Early pregnancy no heartbeat, miscarriage?

Hi just after some advice please...

I found out I was pregnant about 3 weeks ago, booked an early scan as I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy before and wanted to settle my mind.
Myself and the doctor worked out I would’ve been about 6 weeks at the time I went to the drs (3 weeks ago on Thursday)
I Went for my early scan last week (should’ve been around 8 weeks) and they dated be around 6 weeks and asked me to go back for a rescan to check everything was growing as it should.
I went back last night and was told said she thinks there has been slight growth but not much but dated me at 6+2 and still no heart beat. She said there’s still a possibility something might appear but it’s not the best news. I need to go back again in a weeks time but I can’t wait just not knowing.. I don’t know whether to contact my midwife today and see what she says? Hoping she can send me for a scan at some point at the hospital.. I’ve basically prepared myself for the worse but it’s the being in limbo which is making it even worse!

I went for an internal scan at 6wks with my ds and there was no heartbeat registering at that point either, nor could the sac even be seen on a tummy scan but he is now 5 years old. The main concern for me would be that in the space of 7 days they've said the baby has only grown 2 days worth, unless the measurements are wrong or your dates are wrong. Sorry I don't have any advice.

Sorry OP there's no one who can give you any answers. It's a wait and see situation. If there's not any growth next week then it's probably a miscarriage.

Have your other scans been private? If definitely get in touch with your midwife if they have been.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah the heartbeat isn’t worrying as much as the growth. I know it’s not unheard of to not hear a heartbeat before 8 weeks. It’s the lack of growth in a week.. and the fact my last period was 24th & 25th May (I have short periods and long cycles)
Think I’m going to call the midwife this morning and see what she says xx

I'm sorry your experiencing this. It's so hard not to worry isn't it? I had strong positives tests 6 days before AF was due and my dates should make me 6weeks 3 days but I had a scan yesterday and all they could see was a yolk sack and dated me 5 weeks. They also found two big cysts on one of my ovaries. I need to go back in two weeks aswell to see if there is a heartbeat. I just want to see that flicker , crossing everything. I hope everything goes ok for you too. Grow little ones grow! The lady doing the scan said it's very common for women to be one week or two behind expected dates based on LMP as it isn't always accurate.
