almost 14 wks of pgcy no.2. feel worse this time round. will it wever end ? constant nausea. actual sick few times. feel fine when eating. as soon as finished eating feel sick again. dont feel like doing anything or going anywhere special. got ds to amuse all week and take to school. being nagged at getting more exercise. constantly eating, little and often cos i get starving, and drinking fluids to help nausea. dont know what to drink next. tried all ginger stuff - yuk. got bands on wrist. tried special tape. nothing works.

Try ginger buscuit and a cup of tea before you get out of bed in teh morning also respond to any cravngs your body may have

Oooh, poor you. I'll never forget the sickness bit of being pregnant. Feels like it'll never end when you're going through it, especially 2nd time round when you've a small child to cope with as well. Is it very much worse this time? I guess all pregnancies are different but could it be possible that it's twins? Have you been scanned yet? Don't know how soon they do that nowadays. It's just that with twins you get more of everything, including the sickness.

motherinferior · 19/09/2004 15:05

Yes, when the heartburn takes over

popsycal · 19/09/2004 15:06

eat something before you have a drink
it helps me
if i drink first i am always sick

pixiefish · 19/09/2004 15:32

Mine cleared up at around 17 weeks- totally debilitated me till then though- had to take time off work and everything. I ate in the mornings as anything I ate after about 11am came straight back up. No it's not just mornings is it. be careful that you don't get dehydrated- go to see GP if you think it's really bad. I found Perrier in the first few weeks helped. Also throughout pg some things kept making me ill- and funnily enough still do. The MSG in Chinese food was bad for me as were spare ribs. Went right off McDonalds and KFC-all sorts of 'bad' food really- still off them now as well and dd is 7 1/2 months. It will end

I'm expecting twins, and my ms finished at 10 weeks, so not always worse.

Sorry don't have much advice if you have tried everything.

Being tired makes it worse, and try drinking lots of water.

There are some who say ms gets worse when expecting a girl!

pixiefish · 19/09/2004 15:52

I had a girl after bad ms

pixiefish · 19/09/2004 15:53

That'd be an interesting thread to start wouldn't it?

pixiefish · 19/09/2004 15:58

can we do a quick 'survey'?

misdee · 19/09/2004 16:36

well i've just gotton out of hospital because of mornign sickness. it my case (with the last 2 pregnancies) morning sickness stops the day i give birth.

Girly · 19/09/2004 16:41

Chocolate makes me sick just threw up a perfectly good double decker, what a waste! Am 16 weeks and still chucking!

clairabelle · 19/09/2004 16:41

Umm I'm with misdee mine stopped the day after giving birth. Sorry

misdee · 19/09/2004 16:42

yeah i impressed the miserable midwife by puking during labour. serves her right hahahahaha

DelGirl · 19/09/2004 17:47

I hope it ends! You have my full sympathy Charlie95. I'm just over 9 weeks and have had m/s all day & all night for the past 4 weeks. Nothing seems to help and like you, i'm whilst i'm eating but straight after I feel no better. I;ve gone off the ginger biscuits now, not that I liked them much before and the bands don't seem to help either . Have read the other m/s thread and some had it through the entire pg omg. Have no energy to do anything apart from the basics and cooking is a major problem so I've resorted to m & s ready meals. Not quite so healthy but what can you do! I do hope it stops for all of us sufferers very soon

Miaou · 19/09/2004 18:39

Please have my sincere sympathies, all you pregnant pukers - I remember it well and don't miss it at all!

charlie95 · 19/09/2004 20:01

thanks everyone. some of you made me laugh.
mind you i'm not getting any sympathy at home. i still have to do things that i cant face doing. get no help or offers or help. i really cant face doing some things cos it turns my stomach and i wretch, eg fillng the dishwasher, walking past the bin thats full, ds nappies/potty.....sorry feel yuk right now.

anyway cant face water to drink - too bland. feel worse. into cups of tea now or glass of milk. tried flat fizzy drinks, gone off them now.
we'll see what the outcome is and let you know if boy/girl. hope to find out from later scan.
already had scan - growing fine. it waved and ahd crossed its ankles over. AWW!

charlie95 - snap, I'm on pregnancy no. 2 and the morning sickness this time round has been worse and has lingered much longer. It's 24 hours a day, and the worst time is the evening, when I've taken to crawling under the duvet at 8.30pm and lying really really still in a bid not to throw up! I'm nearly at 17 weeks, and finally it is going. I just feel queasy now, rather than like I'm actually going to be sick, and I can eat again! I even did some cooking on Friday for the first time in 2 months.

I have a holiday to Italy in 5 weeks time and I'm really hoping by then I might be up for enjoying the food. Can't imagine sipping a glass of wine ... maybe in the third trimester!!

Hope it fades for you really soon too.

I've discovered TUC biscuits help me - I have a packet constantly on the go.
