I'm about 16 weeks and my first trimester was horrific, constant nausea, acidity, aches from week 5 till week 14ish...I have had such intense hunger that I've already put on 5kg and I feel huge and disgusting, scared how much more I'm gonna put on. I was staring to finally feel better by week 15 and then caught this god awful virus, it's left me floored. Headache, body aches, sinus congestion, sore throat, throat pleghm, coughing etc...the only thing I've been taking is paracetamol and I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I can't remember the feeling of being normal, I miss my old self so much. Just wanted to vent :(

Hey ! I read your post and feel really bad for you. I'm sorry that you're feeling so rubbish. Don't worry too much about the gain, I'm sure it will balance itself out again. Especially if it's because of the nausea stopping. Your body just probably needed some nutrients, as for so many weeks you probably weren't able to feed it very well because of the nausea.

Having a cold/ flu sucks at the best of times, but even harder when pregnant.

I really really hear what you're saying about wanting to just feel normal. I feel the same and just try not to dwell on it. Some days I succeed. Other days I break down and cry. Allow yourself that space.

Make sure you look after yourself and try to distract yourself as much as you can.

I'm at week 14, nausea is still there )-: it really sucks, so I really understand. At around week 11 I had a high temperature and sore throat- it was absolute agony. The nausea and the fever really was next level pain.

Everyone says it gets easier, so let's hope and pray that it does. My thoughts are with you. I never expected it to be so tough. I'm practically bed ridden and bored out of my mind. I hope you feel better soon. Big hug xx
