I’m expecting my first baby, due on 9th December. I am 39 YO Pregnancy has been going really well, I had some nausea in first trimester but it now subsided. DH and I were besotted with pregnancy news. I attended my 12 weeks scan, all in norm. Combined test for Down, trisomy 18, 13 screening came out negative and low risk. All tests were done on NHS.
Recently 24/07/19 We attended anomaly scan and all measurements came out normal and not abnormalities identified however Sonographer referred us for 28 weeks scan and made referral to FMU for review of limbs. Baby’s left femur came out below average 28.1 mm right femur 28.5mm @ 5 centile. I tried to ask sonographer if there is anything I should do before my next appointment as I was really worried. She wasn’t very helpful and got a bit crossed me asking her questions. Having said that sonographer had said that the baby might have taken short frame after me. I later on read that they are not allowed to provide any advise.I am now worried sick, it is my first pregnancy and don’t have many fiends that experienced similar problems. It is worth mentioning that I am quiet petite frame 5ft.1 inches. All my side of family mum, sister, aunties are petite except my brother who is much taller (after our grandad). DH is 5ft 10 and his family are slightly taller then mines but still on smaller scale. I read on google that short limbs could be a marker for Down syndrome or dwarfism. Also that Combine tests are not accurate. I read that Harmony test are more accurate and now contemplating on doing it.
I read some threads here but I wanted o know if it is worth doing Harmony test. I haven’t received any phone call or letter as yet from hospital. I also read here on forum that many babies are measured short but came out to be healthy. I am praying all will be fine. Anyone that had done Harmony test? Any one that had similar experience?

Different measurements but DDs head measurements showed her head was developing like a rugby ball (long ways) between 20 weeks and around 35 weeks I think (it was 10 years ago) but came out perfect.

Yes. DD2 had very short femurs and I was referred to foetal diagnosis where they concluded that she just had short legs like DH. She still has short legs at almost 4.

Worth mentioning that because of this the weight estimates were completely off; she was predicted to be around 6lbs. She was over 9!

It’s possible the baby is long bodied with shorter legs. My DN is like this (takes after my brother. He’s built like a tank with a short neck, wide shoulders, barrel chest, and was as tall as his full term cousins despite being born at 30 weeks. He’s now one of the tallest boys in his class and his legs have evened out a bit.

Can’t comment on the short limbs part but I HS the harmony Test at 11 weeks with my son, 4.5yrs ago. I’m so glad I had it! It was such a worry beforehand because, without going into too much detail, I didn’t even know the “sperm donor’s” name (1st date, drink was spiked, woke up in a hospital... fill in the gaps!) so definitely wouldn’t have known if any genetic conditions may have been passed down.
It made me feel 100% better and meant that, although my pregnancy was horrific (burst appendix at 19wks, severe sickness throughout and a slipped disc from the very beginning), I was always safe in the knowledge that he was ok which kept my anxiety down through anything I had to face!
I didn’t have the harmony test with the next one, with my partner, but ended up losing her at 20weeks due to undetected Edwards Syndrome.
I’m now 7wks pregnant again and will 100% be having the harmony test in a few weeks. Especially as I started spotting last night and am freaking out a bit because I’m on holiday and just found out my OH forgot to get travel insurance!!!!!!!!! So I can’t get a scan to check everything is ok until we are back at the weekend. I’m sure it’s nothing though as I had this happen through first trimester with my son and actually didn’t with the baby I lost last year! Maybe it’s a good sign for me........?????? Hmm
I’m almost 36, btw, if that has any relevance.
Anyway, 100% go for the harmony test. Please let me know if you do it and how it goes? X
