Low back pain - bump bands?

26+4 here and have terrible low back pain. It's been more sciatic until now (down my left leg) but today it has been my central lower back. I put my back out 18 months ago and it is a very similar pain, including back spasms and I've been awful all day - walking, standing, sitting or lying.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bump supports that might help? I've gained around 19lbs so I'm carrying quite a bit of weight and I guess my back is a bit more arched and it is aggravating an old injury.

I've sat straight all day with cushions for support, done some light stretches and also when lying down I've been on my side with a pillow between my knees but no joy so far. I already knew I was destined for a bad back as I had one just before and also after DS1 but I don't know if I can cope with 14 more weeks of todays pain!

I'm having back pain atm from sports injury and have discovered an awesome aid...try laying on your back with a tennis ball under you and sort of move around on it. I appreciate this may be difficult being pregnant though! But omg it works! I could barely move this morning, and literally could move without much discomfort at all after doing this for 5 mins. Amazing!

Look for one classed as a pregnancy support belt, I used one with my PGP (mine was almost entirely in the back of my pelvis) until I had a proper one provided by physio. Mine was a second hand jojo maman bebe one so don't know if they still sell it. See if you can get a physio referral as well.

I have 3 bands 2 from mothercare which are soft ones & one from jojo mama that is a bit harder for when my pain is bad Do u have a pregnancy pillow ? This has helped me with sleeping.i have ligament pain which has been so bad.

Thanks everyone, pregnancy pillow is something I was looking at so I'll pick one up and I'll take a look for a support band :) and I'll give mw a ring to see how I refer to physio. I have a lot of car travelling coming up and I'm absolutely dreading it, plus I really don't want to be unable to exercise (walking, prenatal videos and aquanatal) for ages either as it keeps me sane!

Can I use a hot water bottle does any one know? I'm thinking it might take the edge off in the mornings too

I'm 29 weeks and have been suffering from lower back pain and sciatica-type pain down my left leg for a while now. I bought a pregnancy support band but I find it only helps a very little bit, and recently it's just been too hot to wear it. I do sympathise as I know how miserable it is. It's much worse for me when I'm at work as I'm on my feet all day and it can be agony. Even the recommended postures don't seem to help (you can Google these, maybe they'll work for you?)

@amehh Check your book if you have any trouble ringing, MW wouldn't refer me at first at 16 weeks as she said it was just everything stretching out, I didn't feel I could ask again until 26-28 weeks and when she showed me how to self-refer I realised the physio numbers were on the page with the hospital numbers 🤦‍♀️
