Possible miscarriage?

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice, or reassurance I suppose, but I guess honestly at this stage.
I’m 10 weeks and my pg symptoms disappeared about a week ago (sickness sore boobs and tiredness) but I didn’t have many symptoms when I was pg with my son so It was a back of my mind worry.
Last night after going for a wee I wiped and it was really pale pink and was the same after the next wee. There was a tiny bit of browny discharge (not like old blood just pale brown and a bit stringy). I’m quite prone to discharge anyway. I phoned 111 and then spoke to a doctor who was arranging for an appointment for me. About an hour later I wiped and there was a tiny clot (less than a 5p I would say).

I phoned 111 to chase up and update and the doctor said it sounded like I was having a miscarriage and to go to a and e.
I went (in a bit of a panic) and they asked me some questions and booked me in for a scan on Tuesday which is the earliest available.

As I left a and e my original call to 111 phoned back with an appointment and I spoke to a doctor and I said where I had been and he told me that there is a good chance that the baby is still safe.

I’m so confused and very upset. I know no one can tell me what I am desperate to know but I was hoping someone might have had a similar experience of bleeding in first trimester?

I would appreciate your honesty. I am upset but want to be realistic but Tuesday seems like forever away, and there is no availability even at the private ones before hand.

Thanks in advance

This experience has never worked out well for me, however my close friend had exactly this and all was fine. There’s no way of knowing without a scan but I’m I’m hoping this has a positive outcome for you. It’s so difficult having a wait like this, l’m thinking of you x

Thank you for responding and your thoughts x. It does seem like such a long time. I don’t want to think negatively but at the same time I can’t be excited anymore.

Have you had any pain?
When I had a miscarriage i knew what was happening instantly cos it was so so painful.
I’ve heard bleeding in first trimester is quite common so doesn’t necessarily mean miscarriage. Keeping my fingers crossed for you @6mummymummy6

Thank you x not really any pain but after googling (which is not a good idea) I thought it might have been a silent miscarriage and now my body might be reacting. I’ve been back to a and e today as there has been more blood on wiping but they have said to try to keep calm as until the scan says otherwise it might still all be ok. It’s hard not to panic when you see blood though.
Thank you for your message x

I am 11 weeks now and didn't know I was pregnant until recently as had light bleeding (spotting) when I was going to the toilet so had ruled it out.... i has a scan when I found out and all was fine then. I know it's hard to wait but I've also had a missed miscarriage and had absolutely no spotting/bleeding with it and actually still had symptoms. Try to stay as positive as you can X

I've had both good and bad experiences. When I had symptoms like yours I went to my nuchal scan at 13+6 and baby had died about a week earlier but my body hadn't got rid of it. However I had bleeding from 7 to 17 weeks with clots bright red and I'm now looking at my 10 week old from that pregnancy. (I had no pain what so ever either time so no pain isn't always good and brown blood isn't always good) It could go either way. I'd prepare for the worst just incase but theres a good chance all could be ok. Sorry if I've been blunt. Take care xx

Hi @6mummymummy6 I am in a similar situation - 9 weeks and had brown spotting fri afternoon. Gp told me to call maternity hospital and they want me to come in for scan today, in about an hour. So I have no sound advice as I'm really worried too but just wanted to reply and say try to think positively for Tuesday but also part prepare yourself in case.... that's what I've done

6mummymummy6 · 28/07/2019 21:51

@Savvysaz I hope you had good news x

Thank you all for your messages. I started bleeding very heavily this afternoon and we lost the baby. I’ve been admitted to hospital for various reasons and I feel sad but ok. A bit numb but at least I know now.

Thank you every body. Anyone that picks this up in future searches looking for answers, please don’t be disheartened by my experience. It could have just as easily ended up the other way, we were just unlucky this time.

Xxx
