Leg cramp

Hi,

I'm 29+6 and woke up last night with the worst cramp in both legs twice.. has anyone else else had this?

I'm really struggling to walk today. Very achey, has anyone had any ideas on what to do to avoid it?

I take supplements and I'm sure they have calcium in, I've drank plenty of water today in case I was dehydrated through the night.

Thanks!!

Eat bananas!

Try tonic water. It can help cramps.

Plenty of water, magnesium, bananas, walking throughout the day and stretching before bed.

magnesium an hour before bed & flight socks.

gentle stretches as well.

I had them really bad.

Following this as I'm 20 weeks and I get awful cramps. Not everyday, but when I do I'm in pain for almost a week after!

I’ve had it on the odd occasion including last night. I found rotating my ankles, turning my toes towards my shin and standing on tip toes eventually eased the pain. Now I flex my feet as soon as I get the pain and massage the calf and find it hurts a lot less the next day!

I suffer a lot with this (both in and out of pregnancy) and no amount of food supplements / vitamins would help.

I then found this on amazon. It's amazing! Apply just before bed and it helps your legs relax. It says to use half an hour before bed but works just as well as soon as the first signs of cramp kick in!

Word of warning: ensure you get the lotion (pregnancy safe) the spray version isn't! Check for the pregnant lady on the bottle!

Thanks for all the advice guys, I've never had a cramp like it, poor DH had to help me walk the bathroom in the middle of the night twice!

I'm going to try all those things and hope it eases

I've got at least another 10 weeks to go, probably 12.. can't be having cramp every other night it I'll go crazy

Used to get this when pregnant and would wake up in screaming pain (far worse than labour!). Can be a lack of salt?
