I’m about 4/5 weeks pregnant - 2/3 since conception- but Dr classed it at 4/5 total.

DH and I are over the moon but nausea/horrible taste in mouth and sore breasts are killing me. I’ve been signed off the nausea is so bad- especially in this heat.

But now my cervix REALLY hurts. Little horrible stabby pains with occasional abdominal cramps (they’re less of an issue)

The stabby pain is horrible and I’ve never been more aware of my own cervix before.
GP seemed to think everything was fine unless I saw blood!

  • no sign of any blood. Obviously I’m thrilled to be pregnant but now really worried/uncomfortable

Hi, i have had a lot of discomfort low down since early stages also and was worried but it seemed to be normal pains. Im now 26+5 and all going well 😍 try not to worry as u got reassurance from ur doc but there is never any harm in talking to a midwife if u are worried, i would. Best of luck 😘

Thank you. I’m up with the worse nausea 😭

That sounds normal to me, and nausea is a positive sign.

I got the cervical pains on and off with all 4 of my pregnancies.

I quite a bit of discomfort in my early pregnancy, it made me so worried! But my midwife told me your body is doing a lot of stretching and stuff, preparing its self. Just take it easy, as drs said dont panic too much unless you see bleeding. Take it easy and rest for now! Good luck, hope the nausea dosnt go on too long!

I had this symptom and told my friend who’s recently had a baby and she replied with “ah - stabby fanny” and I’ve never felt more relieved as I was so worried but it turns out it was so common!

gonewiththepotter · 26/07/2019 08:11

😭 Thank you so much for your reassurance

I’d heard of ‘lightening crotch’ but only in women much further along than me.

At this stage everything is very worrying.
I know the nausea is positive - it seems to be worst in the middle of the night (so wonder if it’s also heat related) but had it most of the day yesterday too.

I feel really guilty getting upset at the symptoms, we SO want this pregnancy but it’s so hard to remember that when I’m hunched over a bucket at 4am feeling like my cervix is trying to kill me!

**bit gross TMI so apologies!

I’m also getting lots of discharge a similar colour/consistency to double cream. Parts are mucus but mainly non sticky.

Is that normal?

If I weren’t pregnant I’d worry I had thrush but no itching or ‘feeling’ of thrush

@gonewiththepotter yes also totally normal! One of those not so nice symptoms noone tells you about. I had it quite a bit in early pregnancy, probably all the way through my 1st trimester, but cleared up when I got into my 2nd. If it changes colour let your midwife know as you may have thrush or something else.

gonewiththepotter · 27/07/2019 08:52

@1990carey

I spoke to the (worlds nicest) midwife yesterday I was so worried about the pains/ discharge! It’s nothing to worry about apparently - I can cope with the nausea/symptoms I just can’t cope with worry whether LO is ok in there!

(First pregnancy and VERY much wanted!)

And I slept through the night last night, without waking up sick...first time all week!
