Each child is unique. They aren't clones. They will each weigh what they weigh depending on genetics, your diet and environment and a range of factors. Including but not limited to birth order.

I Why are you being scanned so often?

BertrandRussell · 26/07/2019 06:00

Why are you booked for extra scans?

Jowd92 · 26/07/2019 08:05

My last pregnancy I was monitored alot for reduced movement and scanned because he was looking on the small side he was born 1 day after due date because I was induced and he was 7lb 2oz his only 11 months and they said they want to keep an eye on this pregnancy just the same so I had my normal 12 week and then I have.my 20 week scan next month and then consultant said when I reach 30 weeks they will want to scan me every 2 -3 weeks

Sounds like they are just being cautious considering your history.
They may not even scan you, just preparing you. You'd have 2 weekly check ups anyway towards the end?

Jowd92 · 26/07/2019 08:41

The scan at 30 weeks 33 36 and 39 weeks are booked already that's 3 weeks apart but he said if needed he could bring them closer together depending If he needs to also needs to check on baby weight as I'm.sure they said they dont want it to be a big baby as my 3 have been In the 7lbs and I've had to have stitches everytime after them so I know that's another thing there also looking at

My first dd was 6lb 5oz 12 days late. Ds was 9lb 5oz at 4 days late. And dd2 was 7lb 6oz on due date.

Kim82 · 26/07/2019 08:46

My first 3 got bigger as they went along although they were all still little babies. The order was 5lb 9, 5lb 15, 6lb 12 then number 4 was 6lb 7.

I wouldn’t worry, all your previous babies have been good weights, 7-8lb is pretty average and all your others have fallen within that weight range.

Placental efficiency tends to become less effective with age so kids can become smaller. You don’t even have to be over 35 for that to happen - for some women, like my sil, it started at 30.
