Changes in moles during pregnancy

Sorry if tmi

I’ve always had a small mole near my vagina, nothing terribly noticeable or big and it wasn’t really raised or anything. It didn’t change during my last pregnancy but over the past few weeks (I’m currently 25+4) I’ve noticed that it’s raised and the mole itself is like a little ball that can move a bit like a skin tag, but it’s the mole.

Ive Googled it and saw it’s normal due to hormonal changes and extra blood flow so I’m not too concerned I’m just wondering if anyone experienced anything similar and did it go back to normal post birth? I’m just worried about catching it when shaving and now that it is raised I’m feeling a bit self conscious about it.

Thanks!

I had the same in my first pregnancy it ended up huge and uncomfortable, right on my knicker line. Dr removed it no problem.

@BlodwynBludd was it after you had the baby you had it removed? I’m going to mention it next time I go to the doctors, thanks!

Yes I showed the dr during pregnancy and she said it would grow throughout and she was right. Eventually habit removed about 6 months after I had ds. I'm my second pregnancy now and not had any more come up.

Don’t think you can ever be too careful with moles. You aren’t wasting anyone’s time getting it quickly checked. My other half just had one removed & thankfully benign but I was so worried!

Probably is just pregnancy but a doctor can double check!

Yes I had two increase in size during pregnancy due to swelling and hormones, had them removed after dc2 because they were much bigger than before and ugly as hell.

Chocolatelover45 · 25/07/2019 19:33

Don't they go down again afterwards then?

I had a mole near my vagina that got larger and harder at the beginning of my pregnancy. It got firm and became more raised from my skin. It was more sensitive too. I honestly thought it was going to drop off. I got it checked out and dr said it is probably to do with pregnancy but if it changes any more to come back. Not long after the appt it went back down to its normal size and feel. So it can happen that it goes back to normal.
Do get it checked out anyway.

Mine reduced after pregnancy but not to pre pregnancy size.

I have one down there too and it’s completely changed- very raised and much pinker- I hate it! I did go have a dr look at it though and she was very reassuring that it didn’t look suspicious, I’m just hoping like you that it goes down after the baby is born!! Always worth getting it checked though!!!

I grew a mole/skin tag in my belly button for each of my pregnancies. The first kind of dried up and fell off recently so now I just have one. Pregnancy does very weird things to your body.

I get SO many new moles/skin tags during pregnancy. They went/fell off after my first kid was born, but are back this time! And joyously, when the Dr checked my cervix the other day, informed me I had a skin tag INSIDE my vagina 👌🏼
Pregnancy does wonderous things 😂

I had a mole on my breast that grew bigger and darker during my first pregnancy - it slowly faded back to its usual colour but stayed larger after my daughter was born.
