Advice and Experience Needed-I think I'm Pregnant on the Mirena Coil

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new/old member from when this was all purple and my not so little boy is now 9!

Context: I've had the mirena coil for four years, its due to come out May 2020. However, my periods are extremely late/non-existant, I am currently on cycle day 58 without a drop of red and the last time I went as long as 57 days then had barely any bleeding/spotting for three days, give or take. The doctor can't find my strings because I had them put in via surgery so they cut the strings quite short. I normally have periods on this coil so this is unusual for me. The doctor telling me that its the coil doing its thing doesn't make any sense because I still have periods on mine.

I've taken countless home pregnancy tests, all negative, and had a blood test which was also negative. I am due to have an ultrasound on the 30th to find my coil but I'm balls out terrified that a baby will be in there.

I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms for quite sometime-morning sickness; sore, swollen, bigger breasts; weight gain; bloodhound sense of smell etc etc and lately my ankles and feet have become really swollen, very similar to when I had pre-eclampsia with my son.

Bottom line: I'm freaking out. Could I be pregnant but the tests are not picking it up? Am I just too fat for a period? Am I just too stressed? What is happening?! Anyone else had this?

If you had a negative blood test then you’re definitely not pregnant. Your symptoms might just be due to the hormone effects of the coil, which can change over time.

You are not pregnant.

You aren’t pregnant with negative bloods and urine tests.
The longer the coil is in the more chance of periods stopping. Be happy you’re not bleeding!
The lack of bleeding and negative tests means the coil is most likely in there but needs uss to confirm.
