7 weeks feeling rough

Hi everyone hoping someone can give me some ideas as I'm slowly losing the will to live!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 1st and am feeling pretty rubbish, extremely tired and feeling nauseous 24/7.(totally expected but taking it's toll!)

I've tried ginger biscuits and eating little and often but that doesn't seem to curb the nausea much 👎🏼 hoping I can get through this first trimester quickly so I can get on enjoying the pregnancy!

Firstly congrats, I think I recognise your name from one of the TTC threads!!

Have you spoke to your doctor about anti-sickness meds? I know a few people in the Feb 2020 babies thread have been prescribed them and they are working for them. Might also be worth getting the doc to check your bloods for iron levels? Are you taking any pregnancy vitamin? Pregnacare I know has iron in it, not sure about the rest.

It does ease off, and you are already over half way through the first trimester!!

Best of luck with it!! Flowers

OP, I'm just over 7 weeks and in the exact same position as you..... so many things that I used to love now turn my stomach at even the thought of it!! I'm with you, but, I'm sure once these next few weeks are over we will both be in a much better place feeling wise and we can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy :) PS - congrats!!

@ImMeantToBeWorking hi! Yes I was on another thread but I went a bit quiet on it as life went a bit manic and then a month or so after I got my BFP! Thank you! hope you're okay 😊 I've been taking pregnacare as that's what my GP recommended I've got my first appointment with the midwife in a couple of weeks so if it's still the same by then I will probably mention it to her 😊

@nicannie congratulations to you too! so glad I'm not the only one! I was really looking forward to being pregnant and it just feels like my body is turning against me every day haha 😂 I think the thing that makes it harder is that only close family know so when you're at work feeling a bit rough you just have to deal with it on your own 🙈

@als2912 yes you described how I'm feeling perfectly lol. I know, it's rough. I haven't even told family yet! So I'm constantly just dealing with it, I told one of my closest best friends and obviously OH knows, so I usually take all the chances I can to tell them how rubbish I'm feeling haha!!

als2912 · 24/07/2019 12:08

@nicannie haha yes definitely I do the same! 😂my OH says you wanted to be pregnant I'm like yes and I love it but just wish this section would speed up a bit 😂 lets get a time travel watch shall we? Haha

The heat seems to be making everything worse. I'm currently sat with a fan pointing at me full blast and my main food group is ice lollies at the moment.

@als2912 I am good thanks, I have been very lucky with getting very little symptoms, I know that could all change but I am happy for now!! Grin

If the sickness is making you loose weight, I would talk to your GP sooner rather than later. Some women get it worse than others and there is no point in suffering if you don't need to!

als2912 · 24/07/2019 12:36

@fluffybottom haha I love that! We've got a stash of ice lollies at work too 😂

@ImMeantToBeWorking that's good to hear I hope it stays that way for you 😊how far along are you? Yeah if it gets worse I will definitely get in contact with them and get it sorted as like you say no point in suffering if you don't need to!

@als2912 I hope so too, some people say that it can start at 12 weeks!! Eeek! I am 10+4 today so I will know in a few weeks either way!!
