Was your morning sickness worse with each pregnancy?

Currently early days of pregnancy #3, feeling happy and excited but niggling worry due to doc in the past saying 'it normally gets worse with each pregnancy'.

My first pregnancy I felt sick all day approx weeks 7-14 but if I ate it eased off for a bit. Was not great, but mostly manageable.

Second pregnancy felt sick relentlessly weeks 6-13 nothing seemed to help and it was pretty grim. (I also have sickness phobia which I'm sure doesn't help).

Anyone find it didn't get worse with each pregnancy? I'd be very happy to hear your story!

First pregnancy vomited at least 10 times a day until he was born.
Second pregnancy vomited everyday and the nausea was just relentless.
Third pregnancy hardly ever nauseous, vomited probably about 10 times all together until I developed diabetes but that's not really the same thing.

I was convinced and told by people after 2 hypermesis pregnancies I was in for a third but it didn't happen at all.

Yes, worse with each pregnancy - I have three DC. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear! In all cases it went on until 20 weeks, it wasn't fun.

Yes was the same for me unfortunately. 3 kids, thought it was bad with the first but it got worse 😢 good luck xx

I'm pregnant with my second and it's about the same but only because I'm managing it carefully. I think it gets worse each time because with more children there is less opportunity for rest. I've tried to deal with the problem by doing as little as possible. I work full time but three days from home and DH is doing everything else. Absolutely everything. It's not fun but I feel like we're getting there bit by bit.

I had hyperemesis with dc1 and have only been sick 5 times with dc2 x

elliejjtiny · 24/07/2019 00:37

It was worse with dc1 than any of my others. However with dc1 it didn't last as long. With dc1 it eased off at 30 weeks and with my others it didn't stop until they were born.

Not me, but my friend is pregnant with DC3.

DC1 - throwing up every day until she gave birth.
DC2 - a little bit random nausea.
DC 3 - absolutely nothing. She reckons she doesn't have time to be sick with a 3 year old and a 1 year old Wink

We're curious if DC3 is the same sex as DC2 because of this. Her first two are opposite sexes.

Mine was better with the second. I felt terrible with my first from about 7-19 weeks. Threw up a couple of times a day and couldn't stomach anything other than white bread. This pregnancy I did get sick but not quite so severe, and it only lasted weeks 8-13.

Pinktinker · 24/07/2019 12:31

I only had MS with my DS’s which were DC1 and DC4. With my DD’s I didn’t have any at all. It was definitely the worst with DC1 because I vomited most of the day as well as feeling nauseous all of the time. I didn’t vomit with DC4 but felt sick all day long until week 18.

Thank you so much for all your responses! There is hope there which I'm very grateful for xx

Just on my second pregnancy but it’s definitely easier than my first. I was miserable on my first! Barely even know I’m pregnant this time! It’s great!

FraterculaArctica · 25/07/2019 17:51

Afraid so for me. Virtually no nausea with #1. Worse with #2, some nausea and random vomiting till 14 weeks which I put down to her being the opposite sex. But now cooking #3 (boy) and by far the worst of the lot, loads of nausea and vomiting which has mostly but not entirely disappeared at 20 weeks. Hope you fare better!

ShopoholicIn · 30/07/2019 07:53

Hi all,
I had no nausea with my DC1, boy... and now almost 13 weeks pregnant and have bad nausea. And from what i have read its possibly because i am having a girl, since opposite sex have different pregnancy symptoms... and baby girls cause more MS. Don't know for sure. Will wait and see.
