High HCG 7 weeks pregnant

Hi, I've just seen the midwife and my HCG levels are high for my weeks (just 7 weeks). She's sending me for a scan, but having initially worried maybe it could be twins, now I've seen that high HCG is linked to Downs. I'm nearly 40, so I am aware that could be likely. Just wondered if anyone had this and there wasn't a problem?

How high is it? Mine was 28,800 at 5+4 and 46,600 at 5+6, healthy single pregnancy. I was 38 at the time. There is huge variation in hCG levels between women so it may well be nothing to worry about.

185,000 at 6 +6weeks.

Well mine would have been higher than that if it had doubled every 48-72 hours as expected so hopefully everything is fine for you too.

Ok thank you, that is reassuring.

My hcg levels were 96,000 at 6+4 so could have been similar to yours if they doubled again. I’m 11+4 now and had a scan at 7 weeks and everything looked ok then. High hcg levels can sometimes have indicate multiples although I definitely only have the one in there!
There is such a huge variation of normal hcg levels and you are still in that range so try not to worry.

What happened in the end @Thisonemaybe? I’m in same boat xx
