So the first day of my last period was the 16/07/2019. I am now 6 days late, pregnancy tests are positive but faint, went to the doctors yesterday and their test was negative:( so i was sent to have blood hcg tests done, they have just come back at 41🤷🏽‍♀️ I mean is this super low? Shouldnt ut be alot higher by now as i would be 5 weeks??? Or could it be that i ovulated later? But still isnt 41 still really low? Also took a clearblue digital which came up with pregnant 1-2.
Dont know what to think, so sad and anxious:( have been told to wait 48hours and go for blood test again to see if it goes up!
Just would love to hear from someone who knows or going through the same:(
Thank You

If they are increasing then you are very much pregnant. Did they advise you to go back in a certain number or days?

lonelyonee · 23/07/2019 18:17

My apologies you did say you are going back, basically if it's increasing (which it should) then you're fine. The positive tests you keep getting are a good sign.

Sorry you are nervous Renee

I think you meant to say your LMP was 16 June, rather than July.

While that is a low HCG result in one sense, everyone is different and the important thing is that the results continue to increase, which you'll find out with the repeat blood tests. You'll have a much better sense then.

I know it's really hard not to feel anxious - but so far, you are doing everything right and you have had positive results.

Wait 48 hours as hard as that is, and I'm sure you'll have a much better idea of how things are then. Good luck Flowers

It could be low because you ovulated a bit later or the pregnancy implanted later. Only way to tell is to repeat the blood test and see if it’s going up. Fingers crossed for you.

Mine was that low 2 try not to worry to much I'm now 21 weeks good luck xx

HCG level at 5 weeks has a range from as little as 18 to around 7.5k according to a quick google. Mine for my first was around 55 on the first blood test and I would have been 5.5 weeks. Also a negative urine test at the doctors office. She's a healthy stubborn 12 year old now.

Thought id come back on here and let you all know that my hcg went from 41 to 180 in 48hours! I am not sure what to think of this, as ive heard of people having much higher hcg levels at this point😭 however it did double i guess? Theh didnt seem super worried but have booked me in for a scan in 1 week!
Wish me luck!

Good luck! I read they don’t really look at numbers (just that they double or go up). But everyone has different amounts of the hormone so as long as it’s going up enough for your number and the best way is a scan.

kkl1 · 27/07/2019 22:45

This is just how mine was with my 2 girls it was high an then with my pregnancy now I'm having a boy it was really low but kept doubling an I'm now 22 weeks fingers crossed for you xx

SquigglyOne · 28/07/2019 08:19

🤞 for you!
I also thought the numbers don’t matter only that they are doubling every two day.
Good luck! Xx
