Induction experience

I am 40 weeks, plug went yesterday, it's my first pregnancy, cervix open only slightly. I've just had the pessary. Has anyone had a similar experience who can tell me how long it took for them??

Can I add that on the monitor it is coming up with regular contractions/BH/tightenings but I can't feel them UNLESS in a certain position sooooo not sure what that means either. The midwives don't know so don't say.
