Just as the title states really. I'm 30 weeks on Thursday with identical twins. Currently measuring the same as a single pregnancy at 37 weeks. I'm boiling, sweaty, house isn't cold enough, my feet are swelling and won't even fit my flip flops. Unfortunately walking around naked won't go down well with the neighbours and I've just about had enough without even thinking about the next 6 weeks. It's bad enough being this uncomfortable but I'm also running around after my 2 year old and trying to keep my house sort of orderly, whilst TRYING to stay sort of cool.

Anyone want to join me for a whinge, no judgement here? X

🙋🏼‍♀️ Me me me! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot! 37weeks today and melting!
Had nurse app today (see MW & nurse on alternate weeks) and some inconsiderate twat parked so close to my car, at an angle, I couldn’t even walk between them 😡 cue me sat waiting in the boiling heat and the receptionist at the surgery couldn’t give a toss! Basically told me not to park there in future - er hello, I’m heavily pregnant! (Car park is for the whole town on a steep hill as well so obviously I’m going to park as close to the surgery as I can, in the designated surgery spaces - but apparently I should’ve parked further away and walked!)
Nurse told me I have high BP still despite doubling my tablet dose last week so now waiting to hear from MW about what to do next!

33+5 with DC5

I have 4 DC in the house with me. They want to go out and do things but dear god i will die.

pepsirolla · 23/07/2019 12:43

I sympathise, my dd was born in a heatwave. I just lay under a wet sheet all the time or sat my ds's paddling pool Flowers

Marty93 · 23/07/2019 14:42

oh god, I am 16 weeks and literally feel soooo miserable stuck at work in a hot stuffy office with a fan just blowing warm air at me... I have zero concentration span and have just been sat willing for my shift to finish so I can go home and literally sit in a cold bath! so I feel SUPER sorry for you ladies who are much further along than me in your pregnancies!

wish me luck for the horrible bus ride home.....!!!

greyby25 · 23/07/2019 14:47

@Lexyness god 37 weeks 😫 oh hope you get the info on your BP soon and it's not anything serious, hopefully just down to the heat and twattish parking. Nothing worse, same thing just happened to me and DD, parked in a child spot and someone parked over the lines basically making it so I couldn't get her back in the car, the temptation to bash my door against the BMW was overwhelming.

@daisydoooo ...im looking at the tea towels I've just folded from washing and wondering if it's worth it. knickers and bra seems appropriate but DD is running in and out of the garden, if she crash lands the neighbours will get and eyeful Grin

@IVEgottheDECAF 4 DC, oh wow I bet they are driving you crazy in the weather. I've just had to go to B&M, for some reason they have no air con in the entire store, I felt like I was melting. Retreated back to my house now but still have to face a supermarket in about an hour

@pepsirolla About to put DD swimming pool up but needs blowing up and DP is at work he's complaining as he works in a kitchen and wondering why I have no sympathy for him 😂. Determined to spend my evening with my feet in the pool and that is all !

@Marty93 Hot office, literally horrible, pregnant or not lol, also very sympathetic about the bus journey. My least favourite thing to do when pregnant was get on a hot bus with sometimes smelly strangers getting to close. Plus I know buses have windows but do they ACTUALLY do anything Hmm x

30 weeks here and uncomfortable, my work uniform is thick cotton poly mix and we're not allowed fans due to infection control. To be honest I'm more annoyed with people head tilting sympathetically and saying "I bet you're warm aren't you?".. nooooooo I'm fine, I'm feeling positively glacial. Ignore the sweat, that's just condensation from my cool cool brow.

Lexyness · 23/07/2019 14:57

@greyby25 thanks. I have essential hypertension which has been well controlled until my tablets changed last week (due to national shortage of my original ones 😞) new ones don’t seem to be doing the trick despite doubling the dose!
Popped over to see the MW as she was literally opposite my house 🤣 and wouldn’t pick up her messages until she gets back to the office. She says it’s high for me but not enough to do anything YET. So I’ve been told to rest and she doesn’t want me going back to work if possible. She’s going to check again on Thursday and then make a plan. Only 11 days until I’m induced anyway but if this doesn’t settle down they might want to bring it forward 🤷🏼‍♀️
This is dc4 and dc’s1&2 we’re both born in heatwaves as well 🙈

Tini17 · 23/07/2019 15:43

Omg, me, me, meeeeee tooooo!
Stupid PGP flared up today so I’m worried I’ll get stuck in the paddling pool and not get out.
Sitting here, staring outside, working on a hot laptop with two ice towels (life savers, those things!) across my neck consuming medicinal ice lollies 🤷🏻‍♀️

greyby25 · 23/07/2019 15:45

@PintOfBovril anything more annoying than people pointing out the obvious, often in a patronising tone. The one I hate is "oooh you're going to have your hands full" like yep obviously considering I have a two year old and have twins on the way thanks for pointing it out. The sympathetic head tilts annoy me so much, might just be my pregnancy hormones but I just think there's no need. The uniform sounds horrible, and the lack of fans is making me shudder. I've just spent the best part of half an hour putting a cheapo one from b&m together. Now sprawled on sofa with fan on full blast.

@Lexyness presume they would induce if it doesn't settle ! so exciting as you could meet you LO earlier ! Hopefully it settles though and there's no risk to you or baby. DD1 was born August 17 during a heatwave. I told myself never again would I be pregnant during the summer. Guess which numpty is 8 months pregnant with twins GrinBlush x

@Tini17 glad to know we are all in the same miserable hot boat Grin craving ice cream so dreading and can't wait for my trip to the super market, an ice cream might keep my DD quiet for five minutes before she drops it and goes into her oh dear, oh no phase over and over and over again until she forgets the ice cream existed Grin. Hot laptop bottoms are the worst. Always used to give me rash on my thighs. Did everyone know about ice towels !! I've never even thought about it before ! Sympathy for the PGP, I don't have any but heard it's awful x

Oooooh, toddlers and ice cream 🙄. Sympathies @greyby25, mine is 2.5 and a sassy madam with pink ice lolly obsession. For about a minute.
Ice towels are the best, thank you clever delivery people at Prime 😆

PinkSpring · 23/07/2019 15:56

I am 18 weeks and HOT Angry

Our house is a new build which apparently means they are built to also act as a sodding oven. It's 28c upstairs despite the fact we have curtains closed, fans on - even an air con unit in one room.

I am hot and fed up with the heat. I can cope with low 20's, above that is too much.

Knickersononeshead · 23/07/2019 16:04

I took dd to soft play at lunch time. It was free entry. They had air con. And it was almost empty because who wants to do soft play in this heat! Best thing I've done all day. Now eldest dd is home from school, all 3 kids now want me to cook for them and dp is still in bed after his night shift 🙄

HesTheFastestKidAlive · 23/07/2019 17:29

Also suffered pregnant in last year's heat wave. Trust me it's harder keeping a LO happy in the heat!!

greyby25 · 24/07/2019 12:08

@Tini17 mine is 2 in August but definitely turning into a right little character

@PinkSpring I've heard that about new builds!! It put me off taking one in January. I can cope with up to 26 any more is toooo much unless I'm in an all inclusive hotel, with unlimited drinks and pool !

@Knickersononeshead oooh air con soft play might be an idea actually ! If I dare venture out maybe thats where I will go.

We had a massive storm where I live last night, it was ridiculous but clearly needed it as its cooled slightly and I'm slightly more comfortable today !!

motherofcats81 · 24/07/2019 20:30
