Belly pains??

Just concerned and wanted a second opinion.

So im currently around 6 weeks or so pregnant and last night the most horrible belly pain woke me up maybe like a stabbing but it hurt it made me nearly cry and this morning im having some pains again like cramping but its not for the toilet? This is my second pregnancy aswell? Really just want some advice

I had period like cramps on and off from about 6 weeks and still get the odd cramp now and I've just turned 16 weeks.

midwife said it is likely just my uterus growing and stretching.
