Stopped cilest pill and fallen pregnant?!

I’m completely new to this platform but hoping can offer some advice. My husband and I decided it was time to come off the contraceptive pill I’ve been on for 8 years back in June. I stopped taking my last cilest pill on June 4th, had my withdrawal bleed as usual from 5-9th June. Since then, I was wondering how my body was going to adjust having been on it for so long. It was on the 17th July I could taste a metal taste in my mouth and I was completely shocked to find out I was pregnant. I’m currently on holiday so will see with midwife when I’m back but I presume it’ll be a bit of a guess when I caught as I didn’t have a period? Or, am I completely wrong? I have no idea when I ovulated or caught but the test taken on 18th July estimated I was over 5 weeks. ANY help or advice on how this works would be so great! We never thought it would happen this quick but we’re over the moon. I’m just praying it stays safe and well until my scan. Smile

Congratulations!

The midwife won't be able to use your withdrawal bleed to date the pregnancy as you wouldn't have ovulated at that point. You will likely not be given a due date until the dating scan.

I'm really happy for you!

It turned out I got caught right after stopping the pill too. I took my last pill on the 14th June had a bleed.. and where I thought I was 3 to 4 weeks she reckoned 5 to 6. So now I'm possibly nearly 7 or on the way to 8. She told me to count the first day of the withdrawal bleed as if it were a period just to get a rough idea ..

I caught cycle 2 after stopping Cilest. I had one "real" AF before BFP

This happened to us - no period or withdrawal bleed though, midwife counting from day I stopped the pill until I have my 12 week scan. Congratulations!!! Xxx

Thanks so much guys! How exciting. If I go off first day of withdrawal bleed that makes I’m coming up 8 weeks which is so exciting!! Who knew things can happen this quickly!!! Glad I’m not the only one XX
