Hi I am going to Tunisia at 6 weeks pregnant and there has been some bother there recently so our plan was just to relax by the pool for a week. I am now worried about overhearing and doing my baby damage if I am in the sun alot? How long would you need to be laying in the sun for your core temp to rise enough to do damage? Any advice? Thanks

You'll be fine, but you'll probably notice that you don't want to lie in the sun as much as usual. Just take regular breaks in the pool and the shade. Your skin may be more sensitive to the sun than usual as well. Drink lots of water and use good sunscreen. Basically just be sensible and it'll be fine, enjoy having a rest x

Dont be silly u wont over heat baby. Just chill as normal. I was in cancun at 8weeks pregnant in sun all day in bikini chasing a 2 year old. It's fine enjoy yourself! People live in warm countries and have babies.

Your body is very good at regulating its internal temperature. Drink lots, don’t spend too long in the sun and don’t go scuba diving...

Great thank you all. Slightly less worried now! Will try to relax and just enjoy my holiday.

I went to Cyprus when I was five weeks pregnant (found out the day before we flew).

I didn't do anything different. I sunbathed (it was high 20's, low 30's), went out and about, even drank a couple of shandies! baby is absolutely fine and healthy.

just think about those women who don't know they're pregnant until further along.

I was on holiday at 7 weeks in a hot country and it hasn’t harmed my baby at all. I even managed to burn my belly by mistake Blush just follow the usual guidance of avoiding midday sun, use sun cream and stay hydrated. Enjoy it! The two weeks we were away really helped speed up the first trimester! I told my midwife we were away on the referral form and she did a quick call and sent me information on long haul flights and travel advice when pregnant
