Bump height/ small baby

I got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time today. Also my bump was measured for the first time too (27 weeks tomorrow) the student midwife said baby was small (one on call she said under the 10th percentile on the other call she said under the 5th percentile). Is this something to worry about? They have moved my scan up from 8 days time to Wednesday.

It's good that they're being cautious and have moved your scan, but it's quite likely that you just carry 'small' and there's nothing to worry about.

My bumpwassmall based on fundal height (I consistently measured ten weeks behind) and I kept being sent for growth scans which were always fine (my baby was a healthy 7 lbs)!

I was sent for several scans through my pregnancy due to measuring small.

I was then sent for a GTT and a consultant as the scan showed a large baby.

She was born last week over 9lb.

I'm waiting for my scan on Thursday after measuring 2 weeks behind (under 5th percentile). The midwives have said not to be concerned and it might just mean further scans until baby arrived.
It surprised me as dd was just under the 50th the whole way through and I am definitely a bit bigger than last time so was expecting to be told I was measuring big.
It can be for lots of reasons and sometimes is just the positioning of the baby.
If you are worried, call your midwife for a chat. I called the community midwife team as I get quite anxious about things like this and she really helped rationalise any concerns with me.
