Health visitor

Hi,
I have a visit from the health visitor this week and wondered what they might actually want to see/talk about? I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and in my area we have 4-5 visits between now and then baby being a year old.

Before birth in my experience it was more of just an introduction and got loads of leaflets for local services and that was pretty much it

Mine just introduced herself and explained when she will visit and what she will do (check the baby's general health, spot signs of PND etc). She also checked if I needed any extra support and that I was aware of things like safe sleeping advice. It was very much just an opportunity for me to ask things. She said that if I didn't feel I needed it she doesn't have to visit, it's just a service that's available if you want. Seemed very useful to me though!

Same here. Just introduced herself. Gave me a load of leaflets - sleep safety, smoke alarms, feeding options etc etc. I spent all day cleaning the house from head to toe as no idea what she was going to do/ want to see and she just came and sat in my lounge for a chat!

@Ribeebie glad it's not just me that has been on a cleaning spree! My friend's health visitor looked around the house to see where baby was sleeping etc after he was born so I have been desperately tidying as I feel like I have been cluttering the house up over the last couple of months!

@Ribeebie hahaha I did exactly the same. Cleaned my house top to toe and she only came in to introduce herself.
