Has anyone had their sickness start in the second trimester? Spoke to my mw and consultant both of whom said it can be normal but they will keep checking me for preclampsia. I only had nausea in the 1st trimester but now I can’t stop gagging - I have tried everything from ginger to eating more to sweets but nothing seems to touch it!

I’m my last pregnancy I had constant nausea in weeks 5-13 then, when I hoped it would improve, I started vomiting too. I had nausea and vomiting all the way through to the end though it did improve (or I just got used to it) around week 25. I had no problems with pre eclampsia.

My sickness stopped around 15 weeks and started again last week at 22 weeks. I do also have quite bad acid reflux so I've been given omeprazole to help the acid reflux, and after a week if I'm still struggling with vomiting then I can go back and they will try me with cyclizine.

I didn't really have a great deal of nausea in the first trimester, and was only sick once at about 6 weeks. Then I hit 14 weeks and boy did I make up for it! Everything including water made me so sick for days! I was put on pills by the doctor which really helped and I managed to get back to normal a few days after starting them.

With my DC i didn't get sickness until 14 weeks I was so happy after previous miscarriages just to "feel" pregnant - only had sickness for about 3 weeks only and then it eased off

I'm 17 weeks and my sickness is still going, I get in mainly on an evening, it's getting me down I just can't seem to relax because of it xx

I'm nearly 16 weeks and have had it for about ten weeks now. No sign of it improving really. I get periods when I'm hungry but the nausea is awful and I have really bad food aversion as well. No vomiting, though, so nobody medical is interested but it's actually quite depressing.

Twinnings ginger and lemon tea seems to sooth my sickness

Thanks everyone. It seems to be linked to fluid specifically rather than food which is the strangest thing. Will try the ginger tea!
