Had my DS 2 nights ago.. he’s my second so you’d think I’d be prepared.. I am so tired.

Breastfeeding round the clock at the minute and struggling to get him to lie in his crib.

Anyone else in the same boat tonight?

Oo, Congratulations Thanks

Not quite the same boat, yet I offer solidarity. Grin My 14 month old is yelling away in his cot. Also very tired.

12 days in here, OP. Congratulations! Much less knackering now we’re into week 2, I found it easier to settle him to sleep after my milk came in (day5), even though I topped up with formula to tide us over! How’s it going?

Day 4 here with first. Milks come in. Baby is feeding really well.
Thought it was going so well. Apart from she just won't settle in her Moses basket. All she's wants to do is sleep on me! Cries when she goes in it and then will only settle when I pick her up and put her on me

Jxtina86 · 22/07/2019 00:56

Currently sat in bed with my 12 day old on my chest so right there with you all!

She does settle in her moses basket but I've had to put a muslin that I've used in there so it smells of me and I also let her get into a deep sleep on me before I move her. However, she loves to cluster feed between 1am and 5am so sometimes there's just no point in even trying to get her into the moses basket!

Congratulations! If only ... was woken by 20 year old dd who was at a party and now being kept awake by incredibly loud snoring 2 rooms away (h) but truth is once I'm disturbed I struggle to sleep.

teejayem · 22/07/2019 01:32

Yep.,day 20 for us tho, so a little bit older. She's just on my chest post feed and I'm hoping she's almost ready to go back in her snuzpod.
DH goes back to work tomorrow and I am not looking forward to flying solo with DS(4) and the baby, it's going to be chaos and no chance to afternoon nap!! Shock

Blondiejay24 · 22/07/2019 05:45

Glad to see we’re not alone. It’s our 2nd night out of hospital. Do night 3. Fortunately my milk came into today (2nd bf baby so came sooner than expected) made a difference though as he seems way more content.

My husband was ready for the. Ugh the shift but jammy f’in gits had a full 6 hours as my boy has managed to go down in his crib in between cluster feeds. Only an hour, but huge progress from last night! Didn’t want to break the habit so let my DH snore his head off *eye roll
Told him he can get up with out DD and son soon so I can get an hour.

My little girl is 5 weeks, she had a bottle around 9.30pm slept till around 1.30am.. bottle/change/cry/fuss till 3.30am..she's just woken at 5am and had bottle/change... currently fussing/climbing me/flailing arms... I hot head butted last night GrinHmm I'm a first time mum.

ffiffi8 · 22/07/2019 05:51

One thing that does help calm her is 'womb noises' on YouTube... I put it on my phone.

Blondiejay24 · 22/07/2019 05:56

@ffiffi8 yes forgot about womb noises! I’ve used white noise tonight with a little success.

@stucknoue you never sleep the same again I hear after kids. I’m a terribly light sleeper since I had my first born. I want to suffocate my DH some nights when he snores BlushGrin

@Blondiejay24 to be honest she's pretty much bed shared since birth, we'd get no sleep otherwise, all done safely and health visitor is happy for us to do it... she won't settle anywhere else.

Blondiejay24 · 22/07/2019 07:54

@ffiffi8. You do what you can to sleep. My husband is a big man and I’m not petite so I never really felt comfortable doing it as there’s just no where roomy enough for me to ‘feel’ it’s safe for us. But if it works don’t fix it they say don’t they 😂

I’m trying similar tactics to what I did with my daughter and winging it a little bit too 😂 I’ll try everything once (If it’s safe obviously!) xx
