“Which” helpfully have a list of ‘don’t buys’ but I am keen to know what people have found are the best in real life?
Do I buy a car seat and all the other bits individually or a travel system?
First baby and there are just too many options, i’m a bit lost...!
Sorry if this post has been done before, thanks in advance!

I’ve just purchased the Isofix and Maxi Cosi Cabriofix - got an excellent deal on Amazon Prime Day. Truthfully I got it because it seems by far the most popular and I was attracted by a) the fact I can get the larger Maxicosi on the same base when he’s outgrown the Cabriofix and b) for £40 I got adapters for my Bugaboo Cameleon so I can click the seat out and straight onto the pushchair frame.

Hi @TTc2019BabyNo1 congratulations on your baby! Hope you don't mind me barging in on your thread. I just wanted to let you know that we've been working to pool together Mumsnet advice on travel systems and car seats in our reviews section.

We've also tested a lot of products with parents to see which ones are best, you can take a look at our pushchair and baby car seat reviews for more information.

Hope that helps Flowers

We got a Brittax römer and then bought everything else separately. Do lots of research on car seats as some may seem safe but actually aren't.

We had a (hand me down) maxi Cosi pebble that was brilliant, with the right adaptors it is compatible with a massive range of travel system bases.

Initially I had a battered second hand icandy base, and then I bought an out n about nipper 360 plus the maxi Cosi adaptors, which if you want an off road pushchair that is suitable for a bit of running, is really good.

I had a carrycot for the icandy but only used it a handful of times in the garden for naps and never out, as DD was mostly sling carried when she was newborn.
