Today I felt like I had pins and needles in my bump for most of the morning. All of a sudden early afternoon my teeth started chattering and I was shivering uncontrollably. I still feel quite unwell. I’m 27 weeks. Has anyone had anything like this?

You should probably phone 111.

castlecutie · 20/07/2019 18:41

Call 111

I would call the labour ward. They told me to use them as A&E for anything that could be even remotely related to my pregnancy.

Twitney · 20/07/2019 19:14

Call your labour ward or whoever is on your notes for advice.

Potential sepsis risk - much more likely to be a regular virus or summer dehydration/heatstroke but you definitely don’t want to mess around with any sepsis risk. And you are more at risk of sepsis while pregnant. I assume you have a fever also if shivering? Are you urinating regularly? Please go and get urgent medical care right now.

Ring maternity triage Op hope you are okay 👌

Jmcd2020 · 20/07/2019 19:24

Oh goodness I didn’t expect these replies. The pains have eased off and the shivering / chattering didn’t last long..l I don’t want to sound like a drama queen if I call...

That's exactly what they are there for. Don't hesitate to use them.

LittleFairywren · 20/07/2019 19:27

You're not a drama queen. They won't think you are. It's better to know there's nothing wrong than to sit worrying about it surely?

stucknoue · 20/07/2019 19:36

Could be flu but sepsis has similar symptoms, go to a&e and don't leave until they do the rapid sepsis test, seriously, missed too often

Jmcd2020 · 20/07/2019 19:53

Thank you everyone, I will call for advice x

I had this very early on in my pregnancy, about 8 weeks. Spent the whole day shivering uncontrollably and feeling feverish, no other symptoms and I was fine by the next day.
I would call triage just to be on the safe side!!

Elllicam · 20/07/2019 20:34

Could be a UTI, definitely worth getting checked.

castlecutie · 21/07/2019 08:22

any update? i hope all is well

Jmcd2020 · 21/07/2019 15:38

Feeling completely fine today thankfully! Think it was just a weird few hours but definitely back to normal now. Thanks so much for all your replies x
