So I've never had a child before, I'm 24 and my period was very late (still hasn't came) so about a week ago I decided to take a test and there was a faint second line, I was like this can't be right surely I'm not pregnant? So I took a second, the second line was a bit stronger this time. I took a 3rd test, a clear blue one this time and it was even more strongly positive. So 3 positive tests and I've missed a period. I've not been to doctors yet but I've used online calculators and I might be about 6 weeks pregnant does this sound right?

I am hoping I am because my partner and I are excited and happy at the thought of having a little one now I just can't wait for confirmation and first scan to fully believe it!

If you've had 3 positive pregnancy tests then yes you are pregnant

Why would you think you can’t be? It sounds as if you are!

PixieLumos · 20/07/2019 18:07

Why would you think you’re not? Are you in the UK? I took the test when I was about 4/5 weeks, had a booking appointment at 8 weeks (I wasn’t asked to do another test - they just took my word for it) and then a scan at 12 weeks. So if you’re waiting for extra confirmation you might be waiting a while! Tests are very accurate - I’m pretty sure you are pregnant, congratulations Smile

I think congratulations are in order Smile

With 3 positive tests you’re definitely pregnant

I would say with 3 positive tests you are pregnant. Congratulations. The doctor doesn't confirm your pregnancy anymore, the tests you took are very similar in accuracy to theirs. Just ring the gp and say you need a referral to the community midwives to start the process.

Pregnancy is dated using the date that your last period started on.

Thank you all! Yeah I'm from UK, and it's still crazy to me that I am pregnant, not fully kicked in yet but it's a lovely feeling!
