Acetone nail varnish remover

Hi. Had my acrylic nails soaked off in what I guess was an acetone based remover at around 4.5mths pregnant. The technician nicked my finger a bit and it stung like mad so removed that finger from the solution and left the remainder to soak for around 20 mins. I did not wash the cut finger until after this. It didn't even occur to me this could be dangerous, Google gives mixed feedback on the use of acetone/nail varnish in pregnancy, has anyone got any reliable info? TIA x

NHS don’t really say anything about it. Doesn’t sound like it will have done any damage from what this is saying... ´It’s ok to use nail polish and nail polish remover as long as you’re careful. The chemicals in nail polish (formaldehyde and toluene) can be harmful if you’re regularly exposed to them, but if you just want to paint your nails every now and then there’s nothing to worry about. Nail polish remover is safe to use while you’re pregnant. They often contain acetone, which occurs naturally in our bodies and in the environment, as well as being manufactured. Being exposed to a lot of acetone for a long time could lead to developmental problems, but even using nail polish remover every day won’t expose you to enough to harm you or your baby.
Verdict: Proceed with caution’
