Lets talk nappies, which ones are best. Pampers were what i always have used but thought id try a cheaper brand this time around.
Anyone used fred & flo at tesco? Let me know what u are all using,used,best ones & what not to use.

Are aldi just as good as pampers? As in as soft?x

Would you consider cloth/ reusable nappies. Better for the environment and cheaper in the long term.

I think quality wise they’re all the same and best fit mostly depends on your baby’s skin and the shape of their bum. Pampers seem less bulky, but Aldi and Lidl have been perfectly good and what we usually use -definitely can’t justify the price difference.

I’ve got some Asda little angels to take into hospital and when I am home and recovered I will be using washable ones :) x

Another vote for Aldi.. we used them all the way up from newborn to potty training! We had no leaks, literally no nappy rash ever & saved a fortune.

At the end of the day, a nappy is there for wee’s & poo’s, don’t be drawn in by premium brands being superior. They aren’t. All brands make super absorbent nappies (probably in the same factory) that do the job. They do all have a slightly different shape, so some brands may suit your baby better. One of my friends bought hundreds of Aldi nappies and found they just didn’t fit her little boy very well & nor did pampers.. they found Asda nappies worked best in the end.

I plan to use reusables. Should I pack reusables or disposables in my hospital bag though? (I can see coming home with a newborn and a pile of dirty nappies as not being ideal, but someone advised if I started with disposables I'd never go to reusables!)

I've been really impressed with Lidl. They're super soft and we never have any leaks

Aldi or Tesco. The worst ones I brought were Sainsbury's own brand

Morrisons are awful and leaked every time for DS, we use Aldi,asda,lidl or sometimes boots

I didn't like pampers, they smelled weird to me!

Definitely Aldi. I used Pampers until DS was about 2 months and then switched and wish I'd done Aldi from birth!

Tesco. Wish I'd used them for first two babies would have saved a fortune

I looked into it first time and didn’t do it which I regret. Second time I’m using reusables and it’s much easier than I expected. I feel guilty for the old nappies I sent to landfill.

Aldi great for us up to size 3. Then leaked all the time. We like Asda, Morrison’s or Sainsbury’s own.

Aldi are the best!

We’ve always used cloth, they work great for us.

@Potatopia It’s up to you. We took cloth with us, I had an emergency section and we were fine. (He’s still yet to wear a disposable yet at 10 months old but I’m sure he will when we go on holiday or have some kind of emergency!) My husband took charge of laundry duties for a few months which made my life much easier. We also used mostly muslins and wraps initially which were very quick and easy to wash and dry. However plenty of people use disposable for a few days, weeks to get into the swing of things, or even a few months whilst their baby is growing into birth to potty nappies. There is no ‘right’ way to do cloth.

I used disposables till she was 14 weeks. Firstly so I didn't need to worry about washing them while I was still getting used to having a baby and secondly because they were too big for her till then

We used Lidl at first, now Aldi. The first poops are very sticky, I don't fancy washing that out of cloth fabric, it's like tar!! Also, you may not know what size will fit if using prefolds.
