Anyone else have/had HG?

Hi everyone,
I’m coming up for 12 weeks and believe I am suffering with HG (severe sickness).
I feel sick 24/7, if I eat the nausea gets worse and usually accompanied with stomach pain.
I have tried various “tricks” but still nauseous all day and night.
I am on metoclopramide from gp and wear travel bands but still feel sick/being sick.
My quality of life is really being affected both physically and mentally.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

I had HG all the way through, I really feel for you. Gaviscon tablets really worked for me even though they are for heart burn they neutralise your stomach acid, try some of those (within reason) them anti sickness ones made me worse somehow! I also ate a lot of watermelon and pineapple, full of water! And stay drinking water. Phew, in this summer heat too! I don’t miss it. Hope it gets better soon x

The big thing for me was keeping hydrated and managing some tiny bites, once I got into a cycle of vomiting it was unstoppable until I was throwing up water. Ended up with IV rehydration four times to break it. It can seem easier to avoid food, but it can make it worse. Even just cracker crumbs help

Keep an eye on your hydration levels. Buy some urine dip sticks from a pharmacy and when your ketones reach 3 or 4++ contact your midwife (who will probably arrange hospital admission for IV fluids). There is a heatwave predicted next week so especially important to stay hydrated.

In one of my pregnancies metaclopomide and cyclizine worked well (ish) together, but there are lots of anti emetic drugs (ondansatron forgotten how to spell itsa ed my life when I was eventually able to get it prescribed)

Go back to your gp and explain that metaclopomide by itself isn't working and see what other options there are.

Feel free to slap anyone who suggests trying a ginger biscuit in the morning as an amazing cure for HG

Keep drinking. Full sugar fizzy drinks. Then you get sugar for energy and the water in you.
Try it really cold, might help the nausea.
Try lots of different things in case you find something you can keep down. Try crackers, biscuits.
Basically anything that isn't revolting on the way up!
