Drawing ointment?

Anyone know if it's safe to use drawing ointment when pregnant? The label says to consult a doctor or pharmacist, but I have neither close by and have a seriously painful spot/boil type thing that just won't do anything 😭 I've done the usual hot compress etc but nothings working, and I have a lovely new pot of mag sulphate paste just sat in the drawer but I just don't know if it's ok to use!

Phone 111, the out of hours service, and ask?

Wouldn't it depend on where the boil was situated? On stomach or delicate bits - no? On ankle - yes?

@percheron67 between boobs (attractive, right?).

@Helpmedecide123 I called 111 in early pregnancy and they were not great, I'll call them if I need to but genuinely think the minds of Mumsnet are probably better equipped for a question like this!

Poor you - that sounds v sore. Hope you manage to sort it.

Oh no. Can you call a pharmacy?

BirdIsland · 18/07/2019 19:19

@Tini17 you're a genius! Can't think why I didn't just think to call, it's clearly been a long day (and I was fixated on my boil!). Called a pharmacy and they confirmed it was absolutely fine to use. I've put some on so I've now just going to wait (hopefully) for it to work it's magic.

@BirdIsland yay!
For anything medicine related, a pharmacist is always a better bet than 111.
Hope it works quickly! x
