Is it me or does that look like a very faint line?

Am I seeing things?

Also, I took a picture of this test after the 3 minute wait because I was really unsure on the result.

That's what makes me think it can't be an evap line.

That's deffo a positive. Mine started out like that at about 8dpo.

ElliT · 17/07/2019 15:51

It looks like a faint positive to me. What time of day did you do the test ? The first urine of the day has the most hcg

PocaNinja · 17/07/2019 15:56

I can see a faint line. How many days post ovulation?

DAR125 · 17/07/2019 16:05

I took it first thing in the morning, and tbh I haven't been tracking when I ovulate because I have such irregular periods it's hard to keep track.....

But I was supposed to start my period last week Saturday and instead I just had brown spotting....

Oh

I have also been:

Getting dizzy a lot
Having hot flushes
Sometimes I feel a little nauseated
I've also recently suffered a random nose bleed
Missed period
And slight cramping.

But none of the major signs like sore breasts or morning sickness have occurred.

I should be approaching 6 weeks by now if my calculations are correct, and I'm hardly feelings a lot of symptoms.

I would have thought the line would be darker if you were due on Saturday just gone. But if you say your periods are irregular then it could be that you were due slightly later.

PocaNinja · 17/07/2019 16:29

The line should be much darker if you were due last Saturday, however could be that was meant to be a late cycle. Make sure you are taking vitamins (folic acid). Congrats!

@DAR125 FINALLY I have found someone with a similar issue!! I'm 10 days late (roughly) and the same as you I have a very faint positive. I also had brown and pink-red spotting!
I'm going to the doctors tomorrow to try and see what's up and I will probably have an early scan on either Friday or Monday to see if there even is a baby in the oven.

Sorry, but I can't see a line on either. I took early FRER test, 6 days before period was due, and line was much darker and more visible then that.
It youre testing on the day your period is due and there is no line, theres' no hcg and you're not pregnant this month.

NikolaPiccola · 17/07/2019 18:00

@sianyb83 that's actually not accurate. Women's HCG builds at a different level and it fluctuates. There are women who don't get a positive until they're 7 or 8 weeks along. My friend didn't get a positive until she was 5 weeks gone. Any doctor will tell you that it's possible.

NikolaPiccola · 17/07/2019 18:01

Sorry, was meant to say 5 months gone. She got 5 negatives and only found out as she had a scan at 3 months!

sianyb83 · 17/07/2019 18:20

I can't say that's impossible, but its the stuff of urban legend.
If there isn't a solid line there on the day you've missed your period, you're almost certainly not pregnant.
Sometimes women test very late, like 12weeks+, and their hcg is actually too high to activate the test, perhaps that's what happened to your friend.

stilldontgiveaf · 17/07/2019 19:01

Yeah I always thought if you test later on in pregnancy you wouldn't get positives because of something called the hook effect? I could be wrong 😂

Sheep90 · 17/07/2019 19:04

I can see it 🙂 looks like my BFP at 8DPO

JellyBaby666 · 17/07/2019 19:12

I can’t really see anything super clearly but perhaps a very very faint line? I think retest in 48h with the same type of test and see what you get then. Fingers crossed it goes how you want it to.

NikolaPiccola · 17/07/2019 19:13

@sianyb83 My doctor says otherwise. Hcg may not be high enough. And it is entirely possible, as long as it's doubling every 48 hours there's nothing wrong.

NikolaPiccola · 17/07/2019 19:14

@stilldontgiveaf not necessarily. My friend has really low hcg. Her baby (a boy btw) was healthy, just her hormones didn't build quickly at all. Although the hook effect is possible.

DAR125 · 17/07/2019 19:15

Yes I'm gonna re-test Saturday and see what happens.

I only went to the doctors due to having dizzy spells and other symptoms. So told me to do a test before she looks into it further Confused

@DAR125 I'm not usually one to see immediately either way but your first pics look like faint (but very clear) positives Smile Thanks

DAR125 · 20/07/2019 12:05

Update**

I took another FR this morning and I saw no line, looks like I'm not pregnant after all....
