Telling Husband - advice!

Heyyy!

First time posting although have been stalking various threads for months!

I think I've just got my first BFP (still very faint and only 12DPO) but of course my mind is running away with itself! I haven't told anyone at all as still digesting the possibility of being preggo! Although we were trying, it's still a bit of a shock and trying not to get my hopes up too much with it being VERY early days.

ANYWAY - my debate is when to tell DH. He races semi-professionally and has a race this weekend. I'm torn between wanting to tell him immediately, or waiting until the end of the race weekend.

My thoughts are, waiting will give me chance to see if everything... carries on haha. Also, if he wins it will make everything even more special for him, and if he doesn't he still gets good news?

Do you think it's possible, and fair, to keep it from him for a few days?

Depends - I would wait but will he notice? ie not having a glass of wine or eating certain things?

He actually probably wouldn't notice when he's racing - he's so focused I'm fairly sure I could dye my hair pink and he wouldn't notice haha.

We also stay over for the 4 days, so if I 'forget' to pack a bottle of wine, I've got my reason for not drinking...

I would wait until 2-3 days after your period is due, at that point implantation has happened and the odds are in your favour. Waiting until Sunday seems sensible

I think you're right. I'm still struggling to wrap my head around it and wouldn't want to get his hopes up as well as my own... I'm due on Saturday, so may get a digital test for Sunday so I can be 100% confident when I tell him Hmm

I'd wait until your period is late before testing again, as 'chemical pregnancies' are not uncommon.
