When did you start buying stuff?

I'm 28 weeks, we have our crib and baby's bedroom furniture.. his room is decorated but still needs putting together with finishing touches etc.

I've been picking up vests and baby grows every time I go to the supermarket, but when did everyone start buying?

I've got some tiny baby stuff and 0-3.. this is my first and we have no idea how big he'll be (I feel huge haha) so I'm not sure if I've been too eager and should wait longer before I buy any more clothes?

Also, when did you pack your hospital bag? I haven't even bought a bag.

I got mainly 0-3 which drowned her so had to do an emergency run to Next to get New Baby size.

From experience of my other 2 I’ll take first size and newborn into hospital as 0-3 was just way too big. I will take plenty into hospital as having a section and no idea how long I’ll be in for as I’m hoping to come back to the birth center to rest and master breast feeding hopefully! I will also pack a bag of reserve stuff for me and the baby so my friend knows what she’s grabbing if we run out of stuff!! I have my pram as it was a Facebook bargain and have a Moses basket, bath and changing mat. Not getting anything else until I know the sex. I’m 15 weeks today though so still early lol xx

Im on baby no.6 im 24wks now ,i have small babies so newborn is even big for mine but id say newborn/first size is the best size to start with,i started buying from 20wks & got alot in the next sale & got my pram this wk as was 10% off never seen that with the make i like so had to get it. I pack my bag at 28wks as i have prem babies but id say 30-33wks is enough time for women who have a normal pregnancy but if u like to be sorted just do it when u want.x

I'm 11+5 with #1 but not due to have my dating scan until 12+6. We've not bought a thing yet although we've had a brief look at clothes. I'm going to wait until I've had the scan before I even consider buying anything as I'm not 100% sure whether I will feel comfortable buying things even after a clear scan. I know the risks decrease the further along you get but I sadly miscarried at 8w at the end of last year and still cannot 100% believe this pregnancy will result in a baby. I imagine we will probably wait until nearer to 20 weeks to start buying and then there'll be no holding back! As for clothes sizes, I have a feeling our baby will be gigantic as I was 10lb 12 and my DH was 9lb 9 so I'm guessing we'll not bother with New Born size! Or should we get some just in case?

I am 28 weeks too and have bought most of the bigger things but still waiting on pram & furniture to be delivered. I have been buying some bits like vests/sleepsuits every now & again. It’s hard when you have no idea how big they will be so I have bought a few first size things from next & newborn but still need to get 0-3 things. I’m going to do my hospital bag when I’m around 32ish weeks i think just so I am prepared and plenty of time to get things I have forgotten x

11 weeks with no 3 at the moment, but the others were a long time ago so I need everything. I may buy a few little bits after 12 week scan (at 12+6) as I will know gender by then and I've had three scans so far so I'm feeling confident as can be, but for bigger stuff I won't start probably until about 25 weeks.

Not for superstitious reasons just because I don't have a lot of space! So don't want it all hanging around longer than it has to!
