Had a fall

Just looking for some reassurance really!! I'm currently on holiday (going home today) and had a fall 2 nights ago on my front! Didn't fall on my belly but did go down with a thud front ways on my knees and hands. Saw the hotel doctor and managed to get an anti d injection but haven't managed to get a scan to make sure all is ok with baby so I'm going straight to assessment when I get home today. Just wondered if anyone else has fallen and been ok...won't stop worrying until I've been seen! I'm 17 weeks by the way, thanks

Ive not had a fall but just diddnt want to read & leave. Your baby has alot of protection in there & u diddnt fall on your bump so try not to worry,i know its hard im a big worrier too xx

I fell down the stairs at about 18 weeks and was terrified! When I called the maternity unit they advised since I hadn’t fallen on my stomach I didn’t need to come in unless I was experiencing pain or bleeding. The baby is still really well protected in there. Definitely call for reassurance when you get home but I’m sure it will be absolutely fine.

Thanks @Angelinthenightx @MamaFlintstone yeah when I called back home the midwife said chances are I'll be fine as he's well protected but I'm just a worrier (as we all are Confused) Sure I'll feel better once I've been seen and had my mind put at rest! So annoyed at myself for falling but one of those things I suppose!

I fell onto my stomach from about 4 foot when I was 18 weeks pregnant. I was so scared but the baby was completely fine. They are so well protected and it sounds like you protected the baby by landing on your hands and knees.

Hello OP,

I slipped on carpeted stairs and landed on my bum hard after a couple of steps when I was 24 weeks and I was fine. Like the previous posters said....no bleeding you're fine. Baby has a lot of protection Grin

I fainted when 11 weeks pregnant and fell onto my front. Went straight to A&E for a scan and everything was absolutely fine! Fingers crossed for you.

So hard not to worry but baby is very well cushioned in there. I fell down the stairs at 16 weeks, while carrying my toddler Hmm was worried like you but all was fine and MW wasn't nearly concerned. I can confirm he was alright and is now a grumpy teenager...

I pass out regularly and I asked the midwife about what to do if I fall onto my stomach. She said if it's not directly onto the stomach then not to bother doing anything unless movements are reduced. She said before 28 weeks baby is still very small and protected so even if the fall is directly onto the stomach then I needn't worry unless I have reduced movements and after 28 weeks they may hook me up to the monitor if I ask them. I am a natural worrier so can understand why you would be but I think due to the size of the baby and you weren't directly onto your stomach baby is probably completely unaware that you actually fell.
