Anyone else obsessing over every cramp/contraction? I've been getting them for weeks but each time I get one, I'm convinced it's the beginning of labour! 🙈

Hellosunshine30 · 22/07/2019 07:11

@Mrsmummy90 yes!!! Haha

This morning I woke up early, just cannot get comfortable. Felt a bit. Crsmoy, but with BH. I've never been someone who has cramps with periods so kinda worried I won't know what to look for. Anyway, felt crampy, went to the toilet and felt like I had passed something in my urine. When I wiped and looked there was a mucus blood. As soon as I stood up I started to dry boak.(all tmi at this time Of the am lol). I called triage just to tell them and they advised all was fine. I might find all these feelings subside in a couple of days or could intensify.

I am now terrified haha.

Hellosunshine30 · 22/07/2019 07:11

Sorry, felt a bit crampy that was meant to say

Mrsmummy90 · 22/07/2019 07:38

@Hellosunshine30 sounds like it could be the start of things!! 😁

I was up all night with regular contractions but nothing now. I'd be excited if it weren't for the fact that this has been happening for weeks! 🙄

Mrbumpoid · 22/07/2019 08:58

@ImpatientFTM

It is difficult to say. I have major signs sometimes and nothing comes of it. The best thing to do is relax apparently - maybe yoga or hypnobirthing. I find it very hard but that's what my midwife told me yesterday. I've been getting stabbing pains in my back and apparently it is where the baby is hitting a nerve. Altho the discharge part does sound promising!!

@Triskaidekaphilia oh good! They say do figure of eight movements. Also sit with back straight, keep back still and move bum forward and back!

@Mrsmummy90 yes!! I have been doing that for weeks!! It's soooo annoying

I was up a lot last night with what was like one non-stop (for hours) BH. This morning I’m struggling to move and have pains in back and front. But I bet it will just stop in a bit and I'll feel normal again Hmm

Can I join? I'm 37 weeks with baby number 3, was admitted with contractions on Saturday night and was 2cm. They stopped shortly after. I had a very fast labour last time so they want me in hospital from the outset. I've had two inductions for those of you getting induced and both were positive experiences. I found the syntocin drip the worst part and would have an epidural if I were to have that again, however my second induction was a single pessary followed by a labour which progressed naturally (and quickly!). I hope all your babies arrive soon, you are all a bit further on than me! I am booked in for induction at 39 weeks which is next weekend!

ImpatientFTM · 22/07/2019 09:49

@Triskaidekaphilia well it seems it was a sign :D my waters broke at 6am this morning, phoned the hospital and they have said I can stay at home until contractions are around 2-3 minutes apart. So far no real pain, just some dull period pain type aches! :)

MyloC · 22/07/2019 10:32

Just an update I had my beautiful baby boy on Saturday at 17.41pm. We got home yesterday and doing well.

Labour started on Friday night with mild contractions but I was able to sleep until 3am Saturday morning. Went to hospital at 5am and he was here 12 hours later!

Good luck to everyone still waiting it's so worth the wait.

Mrbumpoid · 22/07/2019 11:10

@stripeyronnie ah that's good to hear bc I will defo ask for epidural then if they put me on the drip!

@Mrbumpoid You might find it ok, for me the continuous monitoring was the limiting factor as I couldn't move around to manage the pain. I've just watched a YouTube video there of someone having a syntocin induction with no pain relief at all and she seemed to find it manageable- will try to post link:

stripeyronnie · 22/07/2019 11:32

Congratulations @MyloC and hope things progress fairly quickly @ImpatientFTM !

Triskaidekaphilia · 22/07/2019 11:48

That's great @ImpatientFTM! All the best for your labour! I hope all the discharge means sometbjng for me too! Had cramping and a feeling of pressure every time I got up last night.

Congratulations @MyloC!

Mrsmummy90 · 22/07/2019 12:04

Congratulations @MyloC!!

Good luck @ImpatientFTM Smile hope everything goes well.

Triskaidekaphilia · 22/07/2019 12:05

@stripeyronnie that's a lovely video, I got very teary at parts. I've been doing an online hypnobirthing course (should really finish it!) and it's good to know the techniques work even with induced labour.

Hellosunshine30 · 22/07/2019 13:05

Congrats @MyloC great news. Hope you're both well

Well I've had period type cramps/contractions with BH from 8.30- noon and they seemed to have all but disappeared now. So frustrating. Not going to lie, found them a little painful and uncomfortable. What hope do I have in established labour lol. Confused

Mrsmummy90 · 22/07/2019 13:16

Feeling tired, crampy and have a lot of discharge today (sorry tmi).
Fingers and toes crossed!!!

Hellosunshine30 · 22/07/2019 22:27

I'm having regular contractions.

Time between each one is between 12/10/6 mins and lasting 40 to 50 seconds.

Managing them but not sure when to call the hospital. Had 2 blood shows today.

When would you call the hospital? 5 mins in between??

stripeyronnie · 22/07/2019 22:34

@Hellosunshine30 I would wait until you've had three in ten minutes of at least 40secs before calling hospital. Exciting!

Mrsmummy90 · 22/07/2019 22:36

@Hellosunshine30 good luck!!

Hellosunshine30 · 22/07/2019 22:44

Crikey. 3 in 10 mins. That sounds like fun Shock OK thanks. 1st baby and no idea. Want to obviously stay in the house as long as possible. Fully aware this could also go on a couple of days too, but hopefully not Smile

Triskaidekaphilia · 22/07/2019 23:33

I was planning on calling them once I was pretty sure I was having proper contractions, and seeing when they want me to come in. I'm taking a cab so neither want to get there too early and have to pay for 3 instead of 1, or leave too late and cab doesn't show or I end up giving birth in it!

Triskaidekaphilia · 23/07/2019 09:54

Hmm, still not in labour but my waters might be going. It's such small trickles that the midwife at hospital isn't convinced it's waters but I know it's not wee because I can feel it coming out, it's either waters or very wet discharge. She's said to wait a couple of hours and see how wet my pad gets, then I might go in later.
