Anyone have movements that DIDNT feel like flutters?

25 weeks with anterior placenta and still nothing really. Maybe every four days the odd bit of pressure like I'm bloated or feeling hungry.

Could this be it? I keep being told it should feel like flutters and my midwife doesn't seem too worried, but it seems quite late to me to feel nothing!

Mine felt like little pops - like popcorn popping, I suppose.

MrsCharlesBrandon · 16/07/2019 18:04

I had the pressure feeling with my DS, anterior placenta too. I got much more feeling as he got bigger and wedged his feet under my ribcage though!

DD1 only ever seemed to roll or have hiccups.

Aquilla · 16/07/2019 18:05

Mine was like a phone's vibrating buzzing softely.

bobble53 · 16/07/2019 19:03

I sometimes feel as though I’m going down a dip in the car!

YouJustDoYou · 16/07/2019 19:08

I didn't feel anything with any of mine until they were big enough to heft a kick.

Bol87 · 16/07/2019 19:08

Mine felt like a light scratch! It was literally like someone one scratching me from inside, really quite bizarre!

afternoontwee · 16/07/2019 19:13

Also anterior placenta!
Mine started with a weird faint sensation - described it to my midwife as ripples.
Then faint kicks along with that feeling you get when you go over a bump in the car - like your stomach lurches?
Big kicks and feelings of pressure where the baby is pressing up on certain parts of my stomach from around 24/25 weeks. These are uncomfortable and can last quite a while depending on baby’s position.

I also have an anterior placenta although first felt movements around 18/19 weeks. Definitely not the bubbles/flutters everyone described though! Felt more like moving pressure, no definite kicks to begin with. I was once laid in bed at about 18 weeks and felt this pressure move from one side to the other and when I pressed my bump I could feel baby had budged across! Seemed to bypass the gentle flutters stage completely and went from that pressure to full on kicks that made my tummy jolt.

Trinpy · 16/07/2019 19:43

I didn't feel any movements with my first baby until I was about 22 weeks and I didn't even have an anterior placenta! The first movement I felt was exactly like I had a little fish in my stomach that was turning back on itself iykwim. I was both excited and very weirded out by it!

OKBobble · 16/07/2019 19:44

Mine felt like pushing or stretching

Flobeee · 16/07/2019 19:49

That’s the perfect way to describe it @Trinpy !

Poppins2016 · 16/07/2019 19:53

The first time I felt movement, it was like a little tapping sensation from inside. This got stronger as my pregnancy progressed. I also felt a 'wind bubble' sensation a lot.

I did also feel flutters and 'swooshes'!

@Trinpy the 'fish flipping' sensation makes perfect sense! I always got a bit weirded out by that sensation as I could usually see massive movements outside the bump... it was like I had a little alien in there!

DeadDoorpost · 16/07/2019 19:59

Had an anterior placenta with DS, felt like either prods or shivers depending on the day. Definitely got stronger as he grew. Could see his foot occasionally but not very often.

chipscheesegravy · 16/07/2019 20:36

@bobble53 I felt exactly the same and not heard anyone else describe it like that apart from myself lol!

Leleophants · 16/07/2019 21:12

@MrsCharlesBrandon when did it start happening?

MrsCharlesBrandon · 16/07/2019 21:17

I felt the odd bit from 18 ish weeks, but he was my 3rd. Proper pressure that I could say was definitely DS was from 23/24 weeks.

By comparison I could feel flutters from DD2 at 14 weeks.

QuokkaBear · 16/07/2019 21:34

Yes I had 1-2 weeks of the “weird pressure/bloated” feeling, so much so that whenever I get gas movement higher up in my tummy these days, I feel a pang of deja vu from the pregnancy ;D. Mine was around 20weeks without anterior placenta. By 24 weeks I could feel kicks/rolls

Lhmm · 16/07/2019 22:04

I also have a anterior placenta I'm 19 weeks 3rd baby and havnt felt nothing as of yet I've had two scans one at hospital and 1 private and all was okay hope to feel something soon as I'm worried !! With both my girls I felt them very early

hipstercat · 16/07/2019 22:08

I never felt any flutters either. My placenta is also anterior and I only started feeling kicks well after 20 weeks, at which point they just really felt like being kicked from the inside out! I realised later when they got more intense that the pressure I felt early on at the bottom of my bump must have been braxton hicks. Maybe that's what you're feeling too? But could also be a bum of back pressing out. :)

stilldontgiveaf · 16/07/2019 22:55

Mine feel like he's physically rolling around 😂 had flutters very early on. I'm currently 18 weeks

mistermagpie · 16/07/2019 23:12

I've never had the 'bubbles popping' or flutters thing. I'm 20 weeks with my third baby and I've just started feeling movement (anterior placenta) and it's like little kicks straight off the bat. Was the same with my other two. I've never had the pressure thing!

Leleophants · 17/07/2019 08:26

Started getting weird pressing sensations! Is that it then?!

It was like internal muscle twitches for me

Luxembourgmama · 17/07/2019 10:25

Mine felt like indigestion for weeks
