Am I just dramatic?

I'm only 5ish weeks but I am SO tired.

I had to take 10 minutes to close my eyes in the cubical at work earlier this morning and I honestly feel like I've been drugged.

I'm dreading the coming hours until 5pm I don't know how I'm going to stay awake!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I must be dramatic too! I just turned 6 weeks, but for the past week or so I genuinely feel like I come home from work and HAVE to nap either before dinner or just after. Just a tiny bit shut eye, to stop me being so cranky lol!

It's like I can't actually function properly!

Epic tiredness seems to be my main symptom of first trimester. In my first pregnancy I actually used to sneak off for 5-minute sleeps in the work loos as i physically couldn't keep my eyes open. Ended up eating a lot of junk because i needed the sugar-rush to keep going. it really isn't imaginary, I just can't function when i'm that exhausted.

The good news is it slackened off by 12 weeks, along with the nausea and raging appetite.

Yes this will be the case for the first trimester. Extremely early nights help (9pm!) and naps if you can on weekends.

I was like this when I was about 6 weeks pregnant. It was just so draining and I barely left the house on my free days because I just wanted to catch up on sleep. By about 12 weeks I started feeling better again, but I’ve gone back to it now I’m 29 weeks.

nicannie · 16/07/2019 15:07

I hope I feel the same as all you are saying by 12 weeks, I'm eating all the junk food for a sugar rush as well I think. I want to eat everything in site, which is really unusual for me as I usually eat really clean and no junk at all.

I was like this in my first trimester. Just felt like I’d been Drugged all the time. It eases up once your placenta kick in.

I actually have dark bags under my eyes which I've never had before!

It stops around 12/13 weeks and you feel amazing Thanks

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 16/07/2019 15:44

I'm 20 weeks now, it gets much better, it's actually how I knew I was pregnant, couldn't keep my eyes open. Rest when you need to rest, your body is busy just now making a whole person, it's no wonder you're tired.

Not dramatic.
The first trimester tiredness is not to be underestimated!!!!
With my first baby I had hyperemesis and was still working at the start (before the hyperemesis got too bad) which made everything a million times worse. With the second baby, my eldest one was only 9 months old when the sickness/tiredness hit and had just learnt to walk Confused I felt like I’d been hit by a bus most days.
I’m now 30 weeks with the third baby and the tiredness was horrendous at the start. I would get the children to bed at 7pm and go to bed myself. I would sleep when they had their lunch time nap.
Just sleep at every given opportunity!!

I really hope your all 100% right. I do look awful right now. I usually look healthy and eat right etc. All this junk and tiredness - my mum keeps visiting and saying 'I've never seen you look so tired' or 'you've never had dark eye bags or circles before what's wrong' 😂

Lisalou88 · 16/07/2019 19:30

One of the only symptoms I got in the first trimester was extreme tiredness. I would get in from work and have to go straight to bed. Started feeling a lot better at around 10 weeks though, I’m now 28 weeks and feeling like I have all my energy back but will see how long that lasts lol x
