31 weeks pregnant - absolutely exhausted. Still working 40 hour weeks but can't seem to manage it without having to take a day in between using annual leave etc. On my day off I can barely get out of bed is there any help for this ?!

Have you had your iron tested recently?

Triskaidekaphilia · 16/07/2019 16:32

Do you have a very active job? I felt like this even though I was already having iron supplements. I was on my feet for 7.5 hrs a day but luckily in my last few weeks, work wasn't busy and I could sit for a few mins every hour. I left work at 33 weeks but for the previous 3 weeks I also did 4 day weeks. I was surprised how knackered I was even with the adjustments.

I'm 20+3 and feel exactly the same already! I do have chronic fatigue syndrome due to chronic arthritis which doesn't help! I work 9-3 at an office job then help my husbands car detailing business most evenings and weekends 6-9PM. I feel like the few hours I get between jobs I could just sleep! If you find a cure please let me know!!

Agree with the others about making sure your iron level is okay; I did find that 31/32 weeks was particularly exhausting though. I'm nearly 35 weeks now and feeling much better despite rubbish sleep and generally being uncomfortable all the time. I reckon it must have been w big growth spurt or something. Fingers crossed it gets better for you.

Im 31 weeks, exhausted and dont have a job. I dont know how anyone manages to work at this stage. I have fibromyalgia though so dont know if that is contributing. I wouldnt feel bad about taking your maternity leave earlier if you need to @meghan1996

You're not alone. I'm 29 weeks and absolutely shattered.
I didnt think I'd had the burst of energy in my 2nd trimester that people speak about, but I'm wondering if I actually had because I'm definitely feeling worse now.
My midwife took bloods at my last checkup last week and said I'd get a letter if my iron was low, so waiting to see if that appears, or maybe it is just normal for this stage of pregnancy 🤷‍♀️
6 weeks til mat leave starts, not that I'm counting or anything 🤗
