Faint line on a pregnancy test and other concerns

Thank you in advance for reading the message. I really hope to receive some useful tips.

My period was due 2 days ago and as I felt belly aches I have done a test yesterday. One of the lines was quite faint and I have read on the internet that it might be "chemical pregnancy" or I have tested too early.

I had a miscarriage at nearly 3 months last year and it was a very traumatic experience. I am really concerned as last week I lifted some 10kg boxes of books in work, ate mackerel fish and eggs, drank half a bottle of beer, was stressed about stupid things and also ran for the train nearly every day.

My boyfriend is supportive and trying to tell me to focus on other matters but it is really hard as I have constant background of lower tummy cramps, they are the same as period pains, my breast and back hurt as well (those are all tolerable and do not require a painkiller) but I feel alarmed if something is going wrong again.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you once again.

Hi OP, I’ve asked MN to move your post to pregnancy so you get more replies.

Try not to worry, I know it’s easier said than done but all of those aches and early pains are early pregnancy symptoms and quite normal. Miscarriage is cruel and robs the joy from future pregnancies because you can never fully relax, but remember this is a different pregnancy.

Best of luck x

We'll move it now. Flowers

I know it's hard when you have a history of MC, but don't worry about most of those things. I drank half a bottle of wine the day before my positive test, eggs and mackerel are fine to eat, and I'm still lifting things at work (otherwise I'd have to tell everyone I can't because I'm pregnant). It's really difficult and you do worry about everything. I panicked yesterday because I ate a burger that was very pink in the middle!

I know how you feel. I had a chemical pregnancy in May. This Saturday I had a faint positive. it came up straight away and I could see it in the sunlight. Shortly after I started bleeding. Dreaded it because I thought it was another miscarriage. But the bleeding subsided and only lasted two whole days. I now have some brown spotting on the occasion, as well as lower back pain and nausea. I had another faint, though somewhat darker, positive today.

I'm still terrified that this is a chemical pregnancy or that something is wrong, but my advice to you would be to contact your doctor about your concerns. Mine is seeing me on Thursday when I'll be 6 weeks and he's going to refer me to have an early scan the next day!

Good luck Flowers

WifOfBif thank you very much for the help with my post and for your positive thoughts. I felt better after reading your response.

coconutcurls thank you for the very kind message as well. I am glad other people are going through the same as me. I have read that burger meat is good for when pregnant, I am sure if it was a little red is probably fine. I know what you mean but both of us should try to minimize lifting heavy stuff and be more careful. I really hope both of us will do things right with food and lifestyle!

NikolaPiccola thank you for your response and for sharing your experience. I am sorry for your past chemical pregnancy but this time I have the feeling is completely different because what you are describing sounds to me more like implantation bleeding which happens to some women and then continue to healthy pregnancy. Fingers crossed for Thursday, please post what the doctor says once you talk with them, sending positive thoughts for good news!

Thank you everyone, so pleased to meet kind people in that forum.
