I’m 24 weeks and cannot stop eating. I’ve tried different foods that are supposed to keep you fuller for longer but it doesn’t work. When will this end?

When I eat it’s like I don’t realise I’m full until I’ve gone past full and I’m ready to explode. I’m worried I’ll put a lot of weight on but I have no self control at the minute.

Sad

Drink lots of water, try to get lots of fruit and veg in there as well and don't worry about it - you can lose any excess weight after DBaby is born. Congrats, good luck and enjoy Brew

Stock up on fruit and eat that 👍🏼

I do eat a lot of fruit and veg, it’s not so much what I’m eating it’s just the amount I feel like I need to eat at the moment. I’m hoping this phase will pass soon!

@teenmum18 lucky you! I haven’t even had a craving yet, just food in general. Just wish I felt satisfied with whatever I eat but hopefully something will work !

I’ve never been so hungry as I was when I was pregnant. No hangover, or fasting or anything could compete with the aggressive hunger that plagues me from conception to birth! Honestly, it’s one of the first symptoms for me - hoovering everything in sight. By the end your stomach is meant to be quite restricted because it’s shifted due to the position of the baby, but at 42 weeks I could still guzzle a three course dinner with sides and 2-3 pints of Diet Coke.

I’ve never known hunger like it. I was 10 stone before pregnancy and I put on 5 stone in pregnancy. I had a huge baby and was tested for diabetes during the pregnancy but it was just because I couldn’t fill up!

Don’t have any advice but you’re not alone! I lost the 5 stone within a year of baby being born...then I got pregnant again and put on 5 and a half stone in that pregnancy.

Lost it again though. You’ll be reet. I did try and eat loads of fruit/veg and fish etc then I didn’t feel so guilty scoffing family bags of crisps and giant bars of choc and bags of vinegary chips from the chippy and basically anything else in sight! As long as you’re eating plenty of healthy stuff too it’s fine. There’s got to be some perks to pregnancy! (Think that was another thing, because I couldn’t smoke or drink or have hot baths which were three of my favourite things, I indulged in the only other way I could).

What have you been eating in a typical day out of interest OP?

I feel the same, I end up snacking so much in the evening and then regretting it as I feel so full!!

I definitely eat way too much chocolate and barely any fruit or veg 😭

@1wokeuplikethis oh thank god I’m not the only one! I’m really going to try my hardest to eat better and a normal amount or just sew my mouth shut. I need something to take my mind off eating honest.

@chipscheesegravy firstly, your name just made me hungry!! I don’t really eat breakfast but occasionally I’ll have a bowl of cereal (cornflakes or weetabix so not the worst). I eat a lot of pasta but it always has loads of veg etc in. I’ve started switching to brown pasta and rice though in an attempt to be a bit More healthy! I ate a lot of green apples up until recently because they give me horrific heartburn now (as does a lot of fruit). I do snack on crisps a fair bit though which isn’t pregnancy related at all
