Yo Sushi in pregnancy.. ok occasionally?

Ok, so my 4-year old daughter's favourite food is sushi and she keeps asking to go to Yo sushi and on Friday I took her. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and basically sat there eating rubbish California rolls or avodaco maki. But is it really that bad to eat sushi in pregnancy? I mean, the salmon should be ok, shouldn't it?

Sushi is fine in pregnancy in the UK - all the fish has to be frozen first therefore eliminating any risk. So go ahead and feast on it. I used to have it at least once a week.

I thought the same as welsh - fine if frozen first. Though I spent the first few weeks of (as yet undiscovered) pregnancy eating raw bowls for breakfast at Tsukiji Market in Tokyo so I'm not a sterling example.

I think it’s more of an issue with regards to mercury and also listeria risk if it hasn’t been stored properly.

Yo sushi is frozen. As long as you don’t exceed the amount of oily fish women are normally allowed (unlikely with sushi), don’t eat shark swordfish or marlin or break your bank account it’s all fine.

Thank you so much for your replies, everyone! So happy you all think it's fine to eat :) @hormonesorDHbeingadick Haha, yeah breaking my bank account might be the biggest issue as it's too expensive in there and my daughter won't stop eating, so once a month at most for us!
