Maternity Underwear

I am having a problem finding maternity bras!!

I bought a couple from jojo maman bebe but found them too itchy.

I don't like padded or shaped bras as they just feel too big for me. I was a size 34/B (kinda verging onto a C) and I can NEVER find ones that fit. Even trying to find a 34C seems an impossibility although the one I did buy (a padded/fitted one I didn't like anyway) was just too big and bulky.

And I'm also fast growing out of my knickers which is annoying. Are maternity knickers worth it or just find some bigger ones in shop? I'm feeling all this maternity wear is kinda expensive and not keen on buying too many knickers as hopefully will shrink magically back to my original size so won't need bigger sizes of things! (ha!!!!)

Anyway... where to buy good maternity bras/knickers? Is anyone else finding it a struggle or just me? I always find bras hard to find tbh because I don't like padded bras and non-padded bras are few and far between for me. (And rarely my size... even online always sold out.)

I bought some sports bras which have been brilliant. The best one was actually from Matalan so quite cheap. I also have padded bras as they are the norm for me x

I just got bigger sized knickers and bought some cheap sports bras

I'm a similar size to you and I've got these in a medium. Lovely and comfy. Just got some normal (bigger) cotton knickers to go with them.

saywhatwhatnow · 14/07/2019 13:11

You can remove the thin padding (I think)

SillySallyStruthers · 14/07/2019 13:13

I got some mat knickers off amazon (make sure you wash before wearing! Or I might just be paranoid lol) they're great. I'm so uncomfortable in normal knickers now - even bigger ones. These go right over my bump and feel so much better.

I wore standard bikini cut knickers as they fit under my bump right up to the end (I realise I may have been lucky, though!).

I also wore standard bras, only changing to nursing bras post baby. I did have to size up, though, to bras that I owned prior to losing a bit of weight. My ribs and breasts certainly expanded!

H&M sell nice maternity/nursing bras (both padded and non padded) that are relatively inexpensive.

I looked at h&m but none that i liked... Or the ones i liked did not fit. Feeling very disheartened. Not finding brass that fit me that i like us a running problem for me. I get so annoyed.

@saywhatwhatnow of you can remove the padding i will look into that bra.

newmomof1 · 14/07/2019 13:51

I got my bras from mothercare.

I just bought big pants from Primark Smile

norbert23 · 14/07/2019 13:53

I got a bra extender off amazon and wore my usual bra! It works ok 😀 also bought giant pants from Tesco - nothing special just bigger than normal x

I second @saywhatwhatnow 's suggestion... I've also got the M&S nursing bras in black/nude and they're sooo comfy, barely feel like I've got a bra on at all! I'm usually a 36b but now about a 38c at 16 weeks. Asda have some really comfy high leg knickers, just get them in a size up.

Amazon

I went into hotmilk nursing bras towards the end of pregnancy. Never bothered with maternity knickers, just wore low-rise bikini style as any fabric creasing at the base of my bump was so uncomfortable.
