Bleeding at 11 weeks

Hi there lovelies! In a bit of a panic. I’m due to have my dating scan on Monday (today is Saturday). I’ve been absolutely fine up until today. I came back from the park with my two boys, went to the toilet and noticed some blood, bright red like a period, and also some brownish discharge in my knickers. I went to A&E, and when I went to do a urine sample I noticed a small, stringy, dark clot on my pad (sorry if TMI) They called me through straight away and sent me up to the early pregnancy section. Still haven’t had any pain at this point. The midwife had a look at the clot which I had kept and said it was unlikely to be what I thought. Where my first scan is too near, they didn’t want to do a scan because it’s risky to have a lot of radiation in a short time. She went to ask the person above her, while waiting I checked myself again and noticed two more clots and bright red blood. When they came back I told her and she said she would do an internal exam. She checked and said there is a very large clot up there but my cervix is completely closed, which is a good sign. But she can’t tell me for certain until Mondays scan is done 🤷🏻‍♀️ Has anyone else had similar? X

A bit later on, around 14 weeks, I had dark red blood with sizeable clots, cramps and back ache. All was absolutely fine and unexplained - tbh they didn't really investigate it much.

Good luck for Monday. I hope everything is ok with your baby.

I was 11 weeks with my first and woke up to a fair bit of bright red blood. Nothing to do but wait for the dating scan a week later, and all was fine.

Easy to say don't panic at times like this, as I can imagine where your head is at.

Have everything crossed for you x Thanks

Thank you, when she said the cervix being closed is a good sign I felt a bit more positive, but I suffer from anxiety so I make everything into a massive deal 🙈 I had a brave face on until I was waiting for the midwife to come back, she found me on the verge of tears, flapping my hands around and looking for reassurance! She said most of the women they get in the labour ward have been through the early pregnancy unit with some form of bleeding so 🤞🏻 🥰
