Feeling Normal at 6+4 days pregnancy

Hi ladies,

I'm 6+ days pregnant and the 12 week wait till you get a scan is the longest ever!

I had a MC in October and happy that I'm pregnant however the anxiety and paranoia is playing on my mind.

The symptoms I've had is cramps, lower back pain , tiredness , had tingly nipples but nothing now , and right bum cheek dull ache last night.

I feel my belly has slowly gone down... is it because the glasses have gone done too?

I feel normal right now and belly isn't as big.... is it normal?

Have any of you ladies have symptoms come and go? Feel bloated in the evening but flatter in the morning?

I'm just being paranoid and don't want another MC !

I know everyone is different and I guess I just want to read positive outcomes to get me through to my scan (27th Aug) 6 weeks to go!!!

Hey, I'm currently 10 weeks and I can relate as my symptoms come and go too. I didn't get nausea until 6 weeks, though I've been constipated and had sore breasts since the start. I tend to have a day or two of quite bad symptoms, then a day or two feeling fine. I had a scan at 8 weeks, which was very reassuring as we saw the heartbeat, but now I'm starting to feel anxious about the 12 week scan. Could you go for an early private scan for reassurance?

HelloOverHere · 13/07/2019 10:44

@TwistofFate thanks for your message,
I am debating on having an early scan but I feel it may do more damage than good.
I had to go for an early scan last time cause I was bleeding and although the lady couldn't say 'I was miscarrying' she said to come back In 10 days to wait for more development of baby. The following day I was rushed to A&E and it was then I miscarried so either way there's always that anxiety.

I just hope I get to keep this baby .... fingers crossed !

I didn’t feel pregnant at all with my first, did so many tests as I couldn’t believe it. Even at 12 weeks I was sure they would scan and say it was a mistake! But she was there and all totally fine.
My second I was throwing up from the word go... they are all so different.
You could book an early scan if it will help you relax (but like you say it can often bring more anxiety) or speak to your midwife at the 8 week booking appointment for reassurance.
I thought about an early scan with my second because I felt SO unwell, but held out and he was all fine at the 12 week scan. With my first my dates were a week out so she was only showing 11 weeks at the scan, so an earlier one might not have shown what I was expecting and caused more panic. Went back the following week and she

Shahlalala · 13/07/2019 16:57

she was spot on the following week though.

Shahlalala · 13/07/2019 16:58

And I’m so sorry for your previous loss. I can only imagine what it must to for anxiety.

Everafter1 · 13/07/2019 18:05

Yip, my tummy was flatter in the morning until maybe about 15 weeks pregnant. I've spoke to others who had the same.
I had awful symptoms & a couple of days they were gone completely, one of which was accompanied with spotting but everything was fine.
One day I would look 7 months preg with the bloating then next you could hardly tell. I think your symptoms sound normal Smile
My 1st scan wasn't until I was 13 weeks & I felt I couldn't wait that long. I had a mc previously & just wanted to know things were okay in there.
I paid for an early scan & that helped settle my mind. I know you've not had a great experience with your early scan & I'm so sorry that happened. That's an awful experience to go through & it's no wonder you're anxious about symptoms. We're so in tune with our bodies through this. Did the hospital book you in for an early scan before? At least this time if you booked one, it would be because you just want to see. I wouldn't hesitate to call your midwife for reassurance.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile

Apologies, my last post was so long but forgot to add..my very sore boobs disappeared completely after about week 6 & never returned.

Dr273 · 13/07/2019 20:16

I was really bloated first 6 weeks, but at week 6 bloating went down all symptoms except sore boobs went away for 7 days ... then came back. Coming and going symptoms is meant to be normal!

HelloOverHere · 13/07/2019 22:41

@Everafter1 thank you so much for your message ... wasn't long at all very informative which helps !

I have an appointment with my midwife on Monday which is sooner than I think so 2 more days (phew) never got to my last appointment last time so I'm glad I'm gonna make this one :D

I'm nervous and constantly checking down there if I'm bleeding or spotting and constantly going to the bathroom thinking I can ' feel' things lol (too much info sorry)

I'm not as tired today so symptoms aren't strong like the other days, boobs don't really hurt.

I'm just scared cause last time I noticed my stomach went down I miscarried 4/5 days after.

I've spoken to some friends and they've told me that there were days they didn't feel pregnant so I'm hoping I'm on the right track.

Defo got more symptoms than the last one too!

Just so scared to have my scan and see nothin or get bad news , but I guess I can't control nature xx

@HelloOverHere that's great you have your appointment tomorrow! The midwife will
be able to give you some reassurance.

I've found that too. If I'm tired my symptoms tend to be worse. Probably less able to combat the tiredness and everything else.

I can understand the always checking part. As times goes on you'll become more relaxed in relation to that. It's a good sign that somethings happening there to make you check. Tmi from me but there's more of that to come lol & that's probably been my constant pregnancy symptom.

Yeah at the start symptoms are quite tame, some people have nothing. As loads of people say everyone's different. That's great you have more symptoms. It does sound like there's more positives this time.

Scans can be very daunting, never mind if there's an association with them. I was really nervous before my first one. I've not felt the baby move yet so although they are a bit it scary I look at them as a way of checking in.

I hope at your scan you come away feeling more relaxed. You deserve to enjoy this time & have a break from worrying Smile xx

@Everafter1 Hiya!
Thank you for your response, your messages have truly been comforting. Today's the day I meet my midwife one step more than the last time so I feel good about that!
Symptoms have pretty much gone, I had such a scare yday - I always check the public toilets Before I go in- toilet was clean but there must of been remnants of the previous user right at the back of the bowl which shocked the daylights out of me!

Constantly wiping on my part and I didn't see anything red so the whole day I was confused if what I saw came from me or the previous user!

24 hours later and No sign of blood so that couldnt of been from me but I'm still paranoid where the clotted blood came from in the bowl. TOO MUCH INFO I AM SO SORRY LOL xxx

@HelloOverHere
I'm glad I can be of some help Smile

That would be alarming! It probably has been from someone else, that's so good you've not had any bleeding! I think that's the main thing.

I hope you get on well today at your appointment today! Xx

Everafter1 · 20/07/2019 10:16

@HelloOverHere just checking to see how you're getting on? Xx

HelloOverHere · 20/07/2019 10:40

@Everafter1 hello huni :! So sweet of you to message.

So far everything is going well... I'm really showing and have been put off a lot of food which I think is a good sign :)

Had my bloods taken and met the midwife on Monday all starting to feel a bit real.

I'm 7 weeks and 4 days today
How are you feeling?

Xxx

@HelloOverHere

I just wanted to send you a message to say I totally sympathise with you! I had very little symptoms, only sore boobs, cramps and tiredness and hunger (though I’m generally a tired and hungry person so I didn’t consider this a symptom! 😀) I did also randomly have an ache in my left bum cheek too.
We took a test when I was 4week 2 day and the 8 week wait for the 12 weeks scan was the longest ever. I was convinced there was nothing in there and that I would turn up and there be nothing there! I wouldn’t talk about it much with my mom or partner as I was convinced !
On Thursday, I had my 12 week scan. I was so anxious and worried- felt so sick!! I lay on the table and within seconds, there it was, it’s little heart fluttering!! It was incredible. My husband had told me to believe all along and was incredible smug! So glad he was right though and not me! It is so scary but have faith. The last few weeks will go quickly and you’ll soon be able to get the reassurance you need. Will keep fingers crossed for a quick 6 weeks and a successful scan!

Everafter1 · 20/07/2019 17:11

@HelloOverHere I'm so glad to hear your appointment went well! That's definitely a good sign Smile that all started for me about that time.

Amazing!! A couple more sleeps & you'll be 2 months!!
Are you feeling a bit better about it all ?

I'm good thank you! Had a prenatal massage today, was good to relax Smile have my 20 week scan next week xx

HelloOverHere · 21/07/2019 10:35

@Everafter1 hey huni! Well today I woke up and out to meet my mum and bump is smaller .. don't feel as bloated and as per usual getting paranoid again.

No pain or cramp which is good...

I've been very gassy and I think the food I've been eatting hasn't helped the bloatiness? Burgers/chips/noodles lol

Now I'm trying to eat healthy alternatives and maybe that's why I don't feel so bloated?

I can't wait till I get my scan!!! It's hard to get excited right? It's like - is baby ok?

Talking to you and others on here make me feel reassured.. so thank you! X xx

@Ceb1986 Hiya! Thank you for sending me this message it's so reassuring during this long wait haha

Torture right?? You have 2 weeks before you can take a pregnancy test and then the long wait till you can get a scan. I am so paranoid and have waves of worry and then confidence.

I can't wait to just see the fluttering heartbeat on that screen ! X x

katy1111 · 21/07/2019 11:31

Hey congratulations on your pregnancy and so sorry to hear about your past miscarriage. I really wouldn't read anything into how flat or bloated your stomach is at this stage as it really doesn't mean anything. You are probably just super sensitive to normal fluctuations at the moment (which is completely understandable).

With my son I didn't show noticeably until I was 6 months pregnant and didn't show at all for the first few months. I also didn't have any symptoms until the end when I got indigestion (lucky I know!).

12 weeks is such a long time to wait if you're feeling anxious and if you feel worried a lot of the time I would get an early scan to put your mind at rest. I would wait until you are at least 7-8 weeks pregnant though as they should definitely be able to detect a heartbeat by then. Any earlier and it may not be detectable which obviously would cause more worry.

Wishing you all the best. Thanks

Everafter1 · 21/07/2019 14:11

Yeah the bloating will come and go. At this stage the actual bump will no doubt be tiny, especially in the morning. Probably as today goes on you'll notice it get bigger. I was about 11 weeks before the definite firmness started in my tummy.

If it's any help mines has been a good bit smaller this week as I've not really had any bloating, except if I've ate carbs. I've not had many symptoms at all this past week & mines have been pretty obvious until now.

Have you given any more thought to booking an early scan now you're further on? Xx

HelloOverHere · 22/07/2019 06:52

@Everafter1 not sure where my previous message went lol but anyway...

I think I'm gonna wait till the 12 week scan I'm going with my gut and I feel deep down everything will be fine. Reading all your messages and the others it's reassuring to know nothing is out of the ordinary.

Your right about bloat and carbs ... the week I was showing more was the week I was c craving junk so chips / burgers and pizzas whereas now I'm trying to get my greens in by having juices made - spinach/kale and all that. And found I'm less bloated and it did help me go loo as well.

I'm a fitness fanatic so eatting junk has put a shock to my system too haha but the thought of greens and salads make me feel sick and can't eat veggies and chicken unless it's covered in sauce or breadcrumbs haha.

5 weeks today since I found out! And 8 weeks pregnant this coming Wednesday! I do feel different in this pregnancy this time round...

I can't wait to see baby on 27th!

Xx

I had no idea I was pregnant till I was 11 weeks, I think sometimes people just don’t get or notice symptoms. Good luck xxx
