Booked an early scan

After our mc in Feb my OH and I decided we'd book an early scan in the hope of reassurance of a sticky bean! I know the scan won't stop anything going wrong but if bran has a heartbeat at 7+5 then hopefully I'll have made it past my danger zone of 6-7 weeks which is when I tend to mc. It's on 1st aug at 1pm. Feeling quite anxious at the moment.... 🤷‍♀️

I'm thinking of booking one that week too. If this turns out to be a sticky bean. Where did you book it and how much?

@mommato3 I'm definitely with you! I've got one booked for next week I'll on be 6+3 but hoping and hoping to see a heartbeat. We would have waited til after 7 weeks ideally but need to travel to tell my parents and can only do it next weekend and wanted the reassurance before telling them. If we enjoy the experience we will probably have another at about 9 weeks to break up the wait til the 12 week 🙈

@Whyhaveidonethis think positive thoughts and I originally booked through mothercare for £70 but they called me to cancel as they had no one to do it that day (looks like all days around that are available so guessing something happened with the person who works that day) would have rearrange with them but as above wanted it before next weekend and they could only do day times at short notice which we couldn't make so booked in with a company called window to the womb for £59
You get a scan, pic, check it one of if can see multiple, check it's in the right place, check to see a heartbeat if visible, measurements and rough dating ☺️
Mines Tuesday night so I'll post the pic it will be the tiniest blob but it will make me feel so much better if all looks ok and especially if we get to see a heartbeat 💗

@Whyhaveidonethis It was a groupon voucher. Paid £35 as opposed to £70 which was a bonus. It's with a company called precious glimpse. They too check if it's one or multiples and in the right place and has a heartbeat etc and you get 2 pictures I think. They also have extra keepsakes you can buy on the day.

For me it's about getting past what seems to be my danger area and hopefully all will be ok 🤷‍♀️

Ultimately we can't change anything so I just feel if I can avoid the heartbreak of carrying to 12 weeks and seeing a baby with no heartbeat or going through mc the day/week before the scan then it has to be worth it whatever the outcome.

In general I do feel this will be ok. Things feel different this time. But at the same time I can't guarantee that. With my mmc I was still feeling pregnant and still growing even though baby had passed at 6/7 weeks.

It's such a hard time....

Good luck to you and @Abi58

I look forward to seeing your sticky beans xx

I was the same @mommato3 and just wanted to see a heartbeat. I had mine and 7+1 and all was fine so I relaxed a bit. Then ended up booking another at 9 weeks Blush for the reassurance it was well worth the £40. I'm now 11weeks and have managed not to book any more!

After having a mmc for my first pregnancy, i was told i would be eligible for early scans on the nhs if i were to fall pregnant again. I fell pregnant 4 months later but the nhs said no so i booked a private scan. We saw a hb!! And i now have a 4 year old.

Good luck xx

I had my early scan today at 8+3 as just wanted the reassurance of seeing a heartbeat. Had a bit of surprise to see 2 heartbeats! Couldnt see if the twins are identical or not but it was amazing to see both of their heartbeats.
