Baby movement... so fed up!

26 weeks tomorrow, some days baby will move around for 60% of the day and other days like today he will move in the morning first thing and thats it till tea time 🙄 iv done everything to get him to wake up and move and he wont, I know he's ok as he moved this morning and this is a regular occurrence

If I wake up at 4-5 AM he is always moving so I am guessing he moves around at night a lot! in terms of going to the hospital what am I meant to do? Its an hour away and I know the second I get hooked up he will move 🤦🏻‍♀️

Can some baby's move more at night when your asleep? Also the whole baby doesn't have a pattern till 28 weeks so should I expect the same movement every day at this point?

Not sure if I’m following you here. Are you worried about a lack of pattern? Or are you worried about your distance from the hospital? Or are you frustrated by the early waking??

I’m experiencing movement some days all morning. And some days evening into nighttime. And some days just when I’m sitting or when I’m standing. I have been kept awake all night on several occasions by flutterings and uncomfortable burrowing into my pelvis!!!! I’m 24w.

I think that the recommendation is that babies would be in a bit of a pattern at about 28w, and that you should be noticing them around the same sort of time each day.

If you’re at all worried about baby movement, call your MW-yours should have made that very clear to you from the 24w appt.

@devilishlygood I didnt have a 24 week appointment, this is my second baby but it has been very different from the beginning compared to DD...

The distance pisses me of! We moved here because there is a hospital round the corner but the maternity unit has shut so nearest is an hour away without traffic!

I am just confused whether it is ok that baby hasn't moved since this morning because he does this every few days then will start moving around tea time 🧐

Maybe I should make an app with midwife to discuss whats normal and what isn't! I often feel kicks in my cervix which I never had with DD so is that movement? Its all a bit confusing 😄

Definitely speak to your midwife. I’m 36 weeks and baby doesn’t have a pattern per se, I just know he moves regularly throughout the day; I think all babies are different but they generally say they start to form a pattern round 28 weeks.

My movement varies depending on how active I am and what I eat!! He loves food like his mum :)

Lying on your left side or eating food generally wakes them up!

@Fae1989 I think he's just extremely lazy and stubborn like his dad!! At the 20 week scan he would NOT move for anything or anyone, running jumping eating drinking 1.5 hours later he was in the same position ! 🤦🏻‍♀️

The only time he will move on demand is if his sister try's to sit on him, will definitely book in with the midwife I think I have to see her at 28 weeks anyway! X

Bless you. These babies don’t like to cooperate sometimes do they?! I think it’s the case that it’s not an exact science, all babies are different and the advice they give out should reflect that really.

I’ve never panicked too much if mine hasn’t moved for a bit, I just give him a gentle nudge and sometimes he will nudge back!!

Definitely see what your midwife says :)
