Waters breaking before labour starts

With DC1 my waters broke at 36 weeks. I had no pain they just broke then labour started about 6 hours later (very slow).

I’m pregnant with DC2 at the minute and I’m a bit nervous in case the same thing happens again. Although DS was a good weight he did have a few issues with being born a month early, nothing major it just meant we were in hospital for 11 days after he was born.

A few people I’ve spoken to have said it happened to them first time round and then again with subsequent babies but I’m just wondering if anyone else experienced it and went on to have other babies at full term? I know it’s not drastically early my only concern was that I felt completely fine and had no warning I’d go into labour any time soon. I know everyone is different but I expected to at least feel uncomfortable before my waters broke! I had a midwife appointment a day or two before and his head wasn’t engaged or anything. I feel a bit anxious in case it happens even earlier this time round. I’ve spoken to midwives who have said it could happen again but it might not and I know there’s no way of knowing for sure so I just thought it would be better to hear other people’s experiences!

My waters broke with DC1 at 33 weeks, I didn’t go into labour until a week later.

DC2, waters started leaking at 37 weeks, i was induced after labour didn’t start spontaneously. So we were just at full term there.

DC3 was induced at just past 37 weeks for reasons unrelated to waters breaking.
