Hi everyone. Just thought I'd start a thread as I'm feeling a little sorry for myself through this pregnancy. Currently 26 weeks and I've had the usual pregnancy symptoms but I've also had some rather unusual ones too. So far I've had 3 days worth of hives at around 10 weeks, cystitis 3 times (first time was how I found out as pharmacist recommended I test), I have a really bad case of pregnancy mask covering my forehead and around my eyes and this week I've randomly developed the hugest mouth ulcer on the side of my tongue which is making talking (lucky DH) and eating rather unpleasant (while I'm also at the point of being constantly starving). I understand I'm lucky to be able to have another baby and everything but sometes we just need a moan right? Anyone else having some strange/unpleasant symptoms? Feel free to share (and moan if you want to) to a sympathetic ear.

Completely blocked ears but not my nose. I had to turn my head upside down to have a conversation. You can imagine what it looked like 😅

MissPollyHadADolly19 · 16/07/2019 22:28

Hairy tummy and my face has sprouted whiskers Hmm
Extremely strong smelling body odour, despite showering and using deodrant I bloody pong!
Weird sex dreams!

Merename · 16/07/2019 22:32

Some of these are pretty funny! Although I’m sure not at the time. I lost most of the eyelashes in one eye, pretty much all in one go. My midwife tried to blame it on my eyelash curlers Angry

Only 5 weeks but I am constantly sweating, through the night even though the window is wide open and I have no covers on. In the day if I move so much as more then going for a wee or putting the kettle on its like I've done an hours workout. Just so sweaty!

I have a couple more to add to my list...

smelly hands (No matter how many times I wash them!)

constipation (which I think is normal for 2nd trimester)

obsession with hand gel (aldi's aloe vera one) omg it smells amazing. but using it so much because of my smelly hand symptom lol !

hannah9176 · 24/07/2019 13:55

Ahhhh the smelly hand thing is pregnancy related???? That makes so much more sense. I'm obsessed with the smell of my hands and can't understand how they randomly take on a weird smell, I'm so conscious of it 😂!

I have a hairy belly but it's blonde and I honestly love it and love showing people. Haven't had to wax my eyebrows since January and I shaved my legs about 2 month ago and nothing has grown back. Pregnancy has been pretty kind to me so far, currently 30 weeks and sleep 90% of the day though - need a lie in followed by both a morning and an afternoon nap at the weekends though and I need an hour in bed every day the second I walk in from work. Very grateful I have a husband who likes housework!

Pinkcat231 · 24/07/2019 17:55

I keep getting blocked ears too @NavyBerry glad it’s not just me!

I’ve gone off all drinks too, I’ll have one glass of, say, fruit juice then I hate it and can’t even stand the smell! Water is getting so dull Confused

Cacaca · 26/07/2019 14:08

Asthma - noticed from very early on I was getting breathless regularly. All iron tests came back showing high levels of iron so no problem there - hit 20 weeks and it got noticeably worse. Could barely walk anywhere without getting out of breath, waking in the middle of the night wheezing unable to catch a breath. Dr pretty convinced it’s asthma, prescribed a preventative inhaler which has worked wonders. Hoping it goes away after baby arrives...

cattaxi · 26/07/2019 18:17

I also have the non hairy legs & mega hairy belly! And sponge cravings. I’m obsessed!

The smelly hand thing is really interesting - ds (4) has recently started sniffing the back of my hand when he falls asleep. I wonder if it’s connected?

Other symptoms I’ve had are itchy boobs, nosebleeds & super fast growing nails.

Cantthinkofanameeee · 30/07/2019 19:36

Lines down my fingernails...Orgasms in my sleep...drippy nose...horrible taste in my mouth...🤷‍♀️

Flippant · 30/07/2019 19:52

Hairy stomach
Bald legs
Non greasy hair - still looked freshly washed after 10 days!
Incessant hunger
Massive bogies

Flippant · 30/07/2019 19:56

Also could not bear anyone wearing perfume near me. Made me want to vomit!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 30/07/2019 19:57

I developed chronic insomnia and lost my sense of taste - food tasted like cardboard. I did not have a fun pregnancy.

homley · 01/08/2019 20:35

Extremely long and vivid dreams! I love them, they are rather odd but I love remembering my dreams.

Possibly developed an allergy to hummus, eaten it twice and the end of my tongue has turned sore and red.

Now someone else has mentioned it I do think my leg hair isn't growing as fast!

katmarie · 01/08/2019 20:56

Nosebleeds, never really had them at all before, and they were my very first pregnancy symptom both times.

Blocked ears, definitely, although that has eased a bit now (29 + 2).

Lots of wind, both ends (which can be mortifying)

Amazing hair and nails, my nails were horrendous until I got pregnant, now I can almost see them growing. And the amazing hair thing is nice because it's all growing back from where it all fell out after DS was born!

Pasqual · 01/08/2019 21:00

I had hyperemesis, so was pretty ill the whole way through but there was a horrendous 6 weeks were I couldn't be near my husband because his smell made me sick, it didnt matter if he showered, changed toiletries or anything...it was just him. He got so offended & I felt terrible, thankfully it passed eventually!!

Becky8690 · 24/05/2020 14:08

wheezy and squeaky lungs!! Never had asthma before.
Anyone else have weird sounding lungs?

fretnot · 24/05/2020 14:38

I liked reading these. No squeaky lungs here but extremely swollen vulval area - just horrified myself looking in the mirror!

SkylinesTurnstiles · 24/05/2020 15:02

My scalp hurts when I brush my hair like I’m forcefully pulling it out!

LolaSparkle · 24/05/2020 16:09

I sneeze a lot .. and it's always when I take my first mouthful of food! It's super annoying 😂😂

Mayahan · 24/05/2020 16:27

My first pregnancy I LOVED the smell of rubber. Spent so much time going in to bike shops and walking slowly up and down the tyres aisle inhaling deeply with my eyes closed that in the end I bought a nice new clean tyre just for smelling purposes.
Vomiting whenever I brushed my teeth.
Second pregnancy - crazy vomiting from iron tablets. And pissing myself every time I vomited. Fun!

borntohula · 24/05/2020 17:00

Thigh cramps!

2020Aug · 24/05/2020 17:05

I've developed a double sneeze which I do once a day.
A single hiccups after first bite of food.
My very old belly button piercing hole (not had anything in it for years) randomly getting infected - twice!
Definitely didn't expect any of these!
