Hi all
So seen midwife today and scan this week - both tell me babies head is super low in pelvis! They say it's ok but This now has me worried!

Everyone says when baby is that low labour is imminent.

Has anyone had this before and been 29 weeks ish? I don't want bubba this early!!!!
Thanks x

Yes, at 28 week check my baby was very low down, midwife could barely feel the head. I’d felt like I was waddling for a while.
Stayed low the whole time and had the baby at 39 weeks.

Yes with dc 1&2 they were head down and low even as early as my 20 week scan! Both came at 39 weeks!
Now quite the opposite! Dc4 and she has been transverse and breech right through until last week, has now gone head down but is free from pelvis and I don’t think she has plans on coming anytime soon (35+2 now)

Buyitinbamboo · 11/07/2019 16:41

I wouldn't worry. My DD was 4/5th engaged from 34 weeks and stay put until 39. Current baby is low at only 22nd weeks, it's just his positioning

Fridaycantsleepdoh1 · 11/07/2019 16:45

Hi Op, was it too low to scan to get measurements? If it’s not don’t worry 🙈
I’m 31 weeks and her head is too low in my pelvis to get measurements for growth scans.
She is measuring small and I’ve had lletz before so I’ve basically been told to take it easy until I hit 34 Weeks as they wouldn’t stop labour then.. I’ve got a consultant note to reduce my working hours and to work from home so to not bring on labour!
Unless they’ve indicated soemthing similar I wouldn’t be that concerned yet to be honest

JuniperNarni · 11/07/2019 17:01

My baby's head was very low down on my 26 week scan. Nearly 28 weeks now and she has gone back transverse. I wouldn't worry too much they are still small enough to do lots of moving around.

nataliemum25 · 11/07/2019 17:19

Don't worry, baby will keep popping in and out till it's ready to engage, you'll be fine xx

LaurenSl · 11/07/2019 17:33

Thanks all!!
Head was too low to get exact measurements - so they sort of guesstimated that bit!
Growing fine. Back in 2 weeks for further scan!
Just scary as I presumed they would still be floating about! But last 2 checks in same place! XXX

You sound quite like my position @LaurenSl!
How is baby growing centile wise? The concern my consultant has is because of lletz and my cervix shortening already which I’m on progesterone for....

Fridaycantsleepdoh1 · 11/07/2019 17:36

@LaurenSl her head has been in the same place since 24 weeks and hasn’t budged, but has just got lower.... so similar to you too!

Dadadadadaa · 11/07/2019 17:37

My first was head down and very low from around 28 weeks. She stayed there until she was born at 40 + 1 weeks.

LaurenSl · 11/07/2019 17:45

@fridaycantsleepdoh
When did they sign you off work? Or tell you it was issue??
At the minute they don't seem bothered but I'm growing suspicious!
X

@LaurenSl I had the consultant this week, then I’m back again in 10 days. She said once I hit the magic 34 weeks though they aren’t hugely bothered 🙈which still seems early to me!! Haha!
Did you consultant mention any similar concerns or just see you again in two weeks?

Fridaycantsleepdoh1 · 11/07/2019 19:01

Mine is 2nd baby... is yours first?

LaurenSl · 11/07/2019 19:52

They haven't mentioned anything - just scan again in 2 weeks. Baby is bang on 45% percentile for growth so they are happy with that. Though the head size is sort of guess as can't get low enough for good pic/measurement.
It's my first baby too yes! 29 weeks tomorrow!
As far as I know everything else is fine cervix wise etc. I just have anterior placenta which is also meaning I can't feel baby move at all :(

My baby has been head down since 20 week scan; I am 34+4 now! This is my second and this one never stretches to top of uterus. Health prof are not concerned but the only downfall is as baby gets bigger it is so uncomfortable and even painful. It's nice to read babies like this lasting till 39 weeks as I feel coming any day now

Puglover88 · 11/07/2019 20:02

@LaurenSl I’m 29+4 today and at my scan last week, baby’s head was very low down and they struggled to get measurement - the midwife wasn’t worried though. I also have an anterior placenta and have been in numerous times for reduced movement!

bobstersmum · 11/07/2019 20:02

My second two babies were like this and it was so uncomfortable. Nothing to worry about though!

LaurenSl · 11/07/2019 20:36

@puglover88 ah we sound similar! This constant visiting hospital is making me feel like I'm a hypochondriac! Some of the midwives are not so nice about it!

Glad to hear others in same boat though not looking forward to waddling and pain earlier than expected though xx

Yes it’s definitely good to share experiences, sometimes it’s more reassuring then the advice you get from the professionals! Sorry you’ve had some midwives who haven’t been understanding, I’ve had one but only saw her that once thank god!

Lotsie · 11/07/2019 21:29

DD was head down and low from at least 30 weeks and didn't move an inch until I had her at 40+5. Sounds like baby has found a comfy spot and is deciding to stick with it!
